Ultra slim, tall child trousers

Hi I know this is about child clothes not adult but I didn't know where to put it! Anyone got any ideas where I can find trousers for a boy 8 yo who has the waist size of a toddler? My usual go-tos of Zara and petit bateau aren't working because there seems to be a big jump in waist size in size 8 (and they suddenly give lots more room for hips/bum??) but we need the length. There's a brand in the states that make special clothes like this but the shipping is extortionate. Ideas welcome, thanks

For school trousers I use David Luke.

DS is only 6 but similarly built, he wears lindex leggings with the brushed inside (they also have an adjustable waist and are sized on height) but I don't know how much longer he'll be willing to do that. He also has some jeggings from h&m girls section, which are cut slimmer than boys. School trousers we get the extra long from m&S with the grow hem and take them down straight away, I buy a younger age, I think he's in 3-4 but they are getting too short so he'll have to go to 4-5 , he has a belt he can wear with them if needed.

My dd was the same, M&S used to do a range in slim fit and tall. Limited, but they had adjustable waists.

Shein could be another option, they sell lots of sizes of everything. Obviously not great quality but I wish it had been an option when I was struggling to dress dd at all.

Give up on joggers.
M&S as above for school trousers.
H&M usually have adjustable waists for jeans and casual trousers.

Get him to like shorts from spring!!!

Next slim waist - on line only though

Following this with interest as my 6yo is the same. Confession time that I asked my mum to put elastic in the waist of his M&S joggers because I'm not that skilled! School trousers we've found are often fine because of the adjustable waist but casual wear is a real struggle!

Thanks all. M&S and H&M drown him in the waist. He has a medical condition that means he can't put on weight so I'm now finding that only really skinny pyjama trousers are thin enough in the waist. It's disheartening. Yes he doesn't want to wear leggings as none of his friends do. I've looked in the girls sections but girls trousers all look girly! Girls have more options don't they. I'll look at David Luke. Can't bring myself to buy from shein but I take your point!

Ps to add even the adjustable waists don't go thin enough once you get up to the age 8 length. Theres just way too much material :(

My dc were very tall and slim - the best I found was Vertbaudet, they do (or used to, it’s been a while) a small range of their trousers in 3 waist sizes, but they still have an adjustable waist. You will probably have to go up an age size too if your child is tall, but they were still usually better than other brands. Not sure if they still do them, but you might find them second hand.

We always found H&M far too baggy at the waist, but Polarn o Pyret were sometimes ok.

Other options are taking them to a tailor for alterations - very pricy, but sometimes might be worth it.
