casual jacket for cooler summer mornings?

Tommy · 07/05/2008 14:10

I have spent all morning looking in vain! I have a fleece and a raincoat and need something I can wear if it's a bit chilly but not cold enough for a fleece. I have a denim jacket (a remnant from my younger days ) but can't wear that with jeans as it makes me look like a headbanger...

Any ideas? It's just for every day - I usually wear normal SAHM's uniform of jeans/combats and t shirt

Please help - I have no idea!
TIA

thank you dirtysexymoney - long time since I was in a beer garden - must do that again soon

Thanks TheBlonde - what sort of thing are looking for?

I saw a couple of things today but most of them were khaki

i have a similar problem, have been wearing a khaki-type jacket for a few summers but now have the problem that a) the military look seems to be out of fashion and b) I have become a tad porky for it. All I can see in the shops are the parka-type ones which just aren't really me, like you say...

maybe something like this? Wouldn't do me as it wouldn't cover my GIANT BOTTOM (it really does deserve capitals...some would say it deserves its own postcode )

HelloBeastie · 07/05/2008 17:53

Or I am considering a black cotton blazer like this with casual T-shirt and jeans, and trying to pass it off as a rock chick-type look... Oops, link doesn't work. Under 'blazers', the 2nd or 4th one along.

Disclaimer - I am useless at fashion/style/etc, and am really just wittering till someone comes along with advice that's actually useful.

Tommy · 07/05/2008 17:58

thanks - some of those esprit ones are OK but a bit pricey for what I had in mind TBH

I also have a not very small bottom but amd on a diet and doing exercise so I'm hoping it will be smaller soon!

A lot of jackets seem to be just too short for my liking though!

I would indeed agree they're a tad pricey... sadly there didn't seem to be that many blazers around (on an admittedly brief Internet search!)
Maybe they're out of fashion too. Sigh.

And what is this thing with short-sleeved jackets? If it's too cold for just a T-shirt, I'm going to be needing full arm coverage from my coat!
Think I'll stop here, as I sense a danger of turning into my mum...
