Help I've dried out!

Sounds dramatic but I feel like a dried prune. I feel as if my skin has completely dried out - hands, face, scalp. Ive dried all of the heavy duty hand creams with little effect. I use Clarins blue orchid oil and Plant Gold moisturiser but they still aren't helping.

Does anyone else any recommendations that they have tried? I've tried collagen supplements in the past but wasn't convinced of their effectiveness but happy to try anything at the mo

I've had really dry skin and I always used thick creams and lots of expensive products that never seem to really work well. I've found actually that not using warm or hot water on my face really helps. Just splashing my face in the morning with cool water and that's it. And then at night after cleansing I use Dove soap. Cheap and cheerful but makes a huge difference and I really notice if I don't use it.

Rosehip oil is your friend OP

I've been the same for a few years, and I've tried so many different creams and serums but none of them really helped. I recently decided to try working from the inside out and began drinking lots of water, and it does seem to be helping. My prune-like hands have started to plump up a bit and not look so prune-like. If you don't drink much water (I know I wasn't drinking enough) it might be worth a try?

Also, maybe get your thyroid checked, as under active cause my skin to be terribly dry

I have very dry skin. What's working for me at the moment is a cream cleanser (Nivea) followed by a squirt of water, vit c serum (Cerave) and hylaronic acid (THE ordinary or simple) serum, topped with Elizabeth Arden 8 hour and another squirt of mineral water. Same at night replacing the vit c with niacinamide serum. L Occitaine hand cream and Aveeno or Neutrogena dry oil on skin after the quickest shower I can get away with.

Supplement with omegas, keep water for showers/washing hands not too hot, spritz face with a facial mist regularly throughout the day, apply hand cream after washing hands and a heavier one for overnight, apply lip balm regularly, apply skin and body care on damp skin and drink lots of water! Winter doesn't help unfortunately.

I've had the same and have started using Astral cream at night. My skin is so soft in the morning. Smells lovely and not expensive.
