Overnight spa when on your own

So being made redundant and thinking about treating myself to an overnight spa trip to decompress and reset a bit. Am I mad thinking about going away on my own? What would be the best spas in the south east for a trip like this, where I would not stand out think a complete loser by being on my own….😬

I'd recommend Forest Mere for a cheap spa taster. Lovely grounds, nice walks, great pool, good sitting areas.
To be honest, I'm not that keen on the treatments. There's a lot of push to add a tenner on for hand treatment (sweaty gloves with a dollop of hand cream) and people are often cross in reception after spending a lot on a hectic round of stuff.
But if you want to treat it like a hotel with a daytime bathrobe vibe and throw in a massage, go for it.
Sorry about the redundancy. It does mess with you.

(my posher spa expert friend recommends Nirvana near Wokingham)

Will be fabulous...when you book I would ask when the quietest time is as you're looking forward to complete relaxation and serenity! Just to be on the safe side! 😊

Everyone who has commented above suggests otherwise. What a strange thing to say.

For the uninitiated I'll add the last bit / noone cares if you're on your own

I think there is a difference between spas being on your own, I went to Eden Hall once and I appeared to be the only person on my own, although it's just a day spa, whereas at Champneys it seemed to be much more normal to be alone, so it's a fair question from the OP.

Lifehouse is nice

Just popped on to say have a lovely time, I regularly go to spa evenings alone, it’s blissful . I’m in Midlands and use Moddershall oaks country spa which is small & friendly. I’m dying to stay overnight!

Not sure what part of the SE you're looking for but South Lodge in Horsham - food is fantastic and best treatments I've had. Sopwell house and as previous poster suggests you need to get the cotton mill spa included otherwise it's not worth it IMO. Alexandra house in east grinstead is also really nice, lots of spa facilities.

I definitely don't think going on your own would be considered unusual. Also, the above places are a bit more expensive so less likely to have hen do's in my experience

I've just done exactly this at Ockenden Manor near Haywards Heath and it was so relaxing!

Nirvana is indeed a lovely day spa, but they don't yet have overnight stay option - I think they're building a co-located hotel?
If you're tempted by a Champneys deal, do look carefully at which one - one of them (can't remember which, hopefully someone else will know) the spa and pool are in different buildings which isn't conducive to the desired wafting between zones!
