What coat for Lisbon in February?

We're there for 6 days, hand luggage and have a meal booked at Arkhe, 2 star Michelin job as we're celebrating.

I'm in my sixties, so still getting hot flushes and a 16. I've got a dress (boden wrap) and ankle boots for the meal.

What are your thoughts? I see negatives in everything I come up with.

Thanks

I wore a light raincoat in February 2 years ago.

I would go for a nice trench coat, not so long or heavy that it gets in the way. It can be used while you travel, and still look nice with dress or jeans/trousers. Bring a silky or gauzy scarf for your neck for evening chill. It looks like winter temperature there is around 16 Celsius during the day.

I find the traditional double breasted and belted can make some people look overwhelmed, but you may find one with a slimmer fit, or car-coat style single breasted.

here's a traditional one:

this one's single breasted:

A trench is actually the one with the least negatives, that being it's a pain to carry when I get too hot and I definitely will get too hot.

Do you mean a waterproof?

How was the weather for you?

What about this sort of thing? It's not a bad weather coat but a bit more than a blazer? What colours are you raking Also the locals will be wrapped up for winter regardless.

Sorry meant to link the khaki version. The restaurant will rate your ciat so no one will care. Defo take a nice big cashmere scarf and sunglasses.

Cismyfatarse · 24/01/2025 22:26

About 15-18 degrees. Overcast but no rain.

A short trench coat. Waterproof. One layer underneath. Mine was Protected Species.

I was never cold and not too hot. No need for big jumpers so just a long sleeved top / jeans and the coat.

Kayemm · 24/01/2025 22:30

Oooh, a short trench maybe the way to go...

Navy wool pea coat? Double breasted with gold buttons, thigh length? Smart, not too restrictive but drawback is no hood if it rains.
