Looking for a gentle face scrub which will leave my skin feeling soft.

Any ideas?

I like nip&fab, but you shouldn't scrub with it, just a gentle touch is needed

Good ole St Ives apricot gave scrub. Been using it for over 20 years. Have tried many and spent ££ on some but always, always come back to St Ives.

Another vote for St Ives apricot, I've tried others and still go back to this one.

Me too, and i have sensitive skin! It's the only thing that really works for me.

Make your own with a small handful of porridge oats.

Same, sensitive skin and this just works with no issues. Even my husband steals it 😂

I second the N&F glycolic scrub, very gentle but effective, please don't scrub your skin hard, it won't like it.

Husk and Seed facial exfoliator https://huskandseedskincare.co.uk/products/gently-resurfacing-facial-exfoliant

I second the Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant

wednesdayrobyn · 24/01/2025 20:37

A chemical scrub such as glycolic acid is far better for your skin than most physical scrubs with 'bits' more effective and gentler on the skin. Personally I love Sunday Riley good genes

Scrubs such as st Ives aren't recommended as they can actually cause micro tears in the skin.

Have a look at the Caroline Hirons skincare freaks group on Facebook, lots of advice and product recommendations.

I have the Dermalogica and Avant scrubs, both of which are gorgeous.

Wanted to try something new.

Will have a gander at the Nip +Fab.

The St Ives gives me Aapri from the 80s vibes..it was like rubbing glass filings into your face!
But that's only because of the apricot.

I like the Clinique one

rightoguvnor · 24/01/2025 23:05

I've been using Cerave SA Smoothing Cleanser since new year and my skin feels totally different, much smoother. Obviously, I'm also moisturising.
I used Aapri apricot scrub in my 20s and I believe it caused large patches of open pores on my cheeks that I've suffered with for nearly 40 years. I think anything with bits in is just too rough.
In just a few weeks the pore problem is nearly eradicated and my skin feels so much smoother.

CinnamonJellyBeans · 24/01/2025 23:16

I also like the Dermalogica. you don't need much.

Also chemical exfoliants, like the nip fab pads.

Like PP, I don't recommend the rough scrubs.

2JFDIYOLO · 24/01/2025 23:50

Liz Earle does a very nice creamy one

glowmummyglow · 28/01/2025 21:21

Please don’t use the St Ives scrub 😭 as another user has said it can cause micro tears and leave your skin looking and feeling so so sooo much worse long term!

are you looking for a physical or chemical exfoliant?

if physical; another vote for the Dermalogica microfoliant! benefit’s wow polish is a nice alternative to that too!

Overall though you’re better off with a chemical exfoliant like Paula’s choice skin perfecting liquid exfoliant, or even an enzyme scrub like Wishful’s yo glow
