Tret question

I am a bit confused. Does one need a dermatologist or Drs 'permission' before you order anything? Hope not because my Dr s are no good with my general health!

No just complete the questionnaire with Dermatica or skin and me. However, If you actually have a skin condition that requires Tretinoin, then yes, your GP would prescribe it, but not for anti ageing purposes! Some order from Spain and India, and other countries, but I’m not comfortable with giving my card details to possibly unsafe sites in another country.

Thank you!

…OP, three family members all using Monderma formulas here and none of us have been near a GP for our skin concerns. That’s the beauty of these registered (don’t use ones that aren’t) online skincare services. You’re being prescribed effective ingredients by a team of dermatology experts without the hassle and expense (plus long wait) of seeing a Derm face to face.

Thanks! @BlackCat25

(I am assuming you don't have 25 black cats!!!)

I get mine through Klira skin. Has transformed my skin

It's prescription so yes (as mentioned already). The NHS will prescribe tret if you can demonstrate it's for a skin condition rather than cosmetic and anti-ageing purposes, which is what the majority of people get it for.

Dermatica, Monderma, Skin+Me and quite a few brands supply it in the UK now. It is far more prevalent in the US and we're catching onto it as the US moves onto tazarotene. Nevertheless tretinoin is still excellent. They're the two strongest wrinkle creams and on par in effect with laser procedures if used long-term.

There was talk of making tret over the counter. It already is in much of Europe.

Jillfi · 27/01/2025 18:28

I doubt it'll ever be available OTC in the UK. It wasn’t even when it was first introduced 30 odd years ago, when everything was OTC.

As poster have said use Dermatica or Skin and Me for a monthly subscription. Both are good but personally I prefer Dermatica and switched to it after starting on Skin and Me.

If you do want to use it and decide with Dermatica I have a discount code that you can use, you get the first month for £2.90 and then another reduction on your third month. For the sake of being open I must mention that I do get a discount for one month if you do use it though. If you click the link below it will apply the discount for you.
