Capsule wardrobe for holidays?

I have far too many clothes. However, I'm currently losing weight and getting fitter so a lot of them are way too big on me.

I'm fine at home with jeans and a t-shirt/jumper but I really struggled to feel put together recently whilst on holiday.

I've gone from a size 20 Blush to a size 16 and I think by my next week away at the beginning of March I'll be around a 14. I probably won't get much smaller than that.

I'm thinking of putting together a capsule wardrobe for holidays but I don't know where to start.

Any advice please on essentials I can mix and match for warm weather holidays?

When I went away last I packed

2 cotton jersey maxi dresses one cobalt and one navy (mainly for the evenings)
1 white cropped cotton shirt to tie over a dress or vest top and cover my arms
1 fine knitted blue cotton cardigan (can be worn loose or tied at the waist over a dress)
1 white knitted linen short sleeve jumper
navy linen cropped wide legs
navy cotton cropped combat trousers
3 loose cotton popover shirts in blues and whites
several white t shirts and camisoles/vests
longer tunic in blue and white to use as a swim cover up
blue cotton sarong/shawl

Worked well as I also packed a small blue bag for evenings and a cotton beach bag and used a navy pliage for my hand luggage.

I'm already wavering and thinking that 2 pairs of shorts and a cotton dress won't be enough daytime wear for a week!

I end up taking stuff that never makes it out of the case so I'm definitely going to try to take just the minimum next time.

I think part of the problem these last few years (menopausal weight gain) has been that I haven't felt particularly good in anything I wear so I try to compensate by taking extra clothes thinking that something will make me feel nice - yet it never does.
