sandals/wedges with a closed toe

I cant find any casual summer wedges with a closed toe anywhere. I have a manky (fungal)toenai , and whilst it is being treated I dont want to expose it to the rest of the world. Anyone seen anything recently with a closed toe?

Sorry I havent but Ive got a manky toenail too (at least you are not alone !) did you go to your GP and what treatment are you having ?

SilentTerror · 05/05/2008 18:41

Have some in Per Una but they are more like court shoe type, but with small wedge.
I have some from Clarks' range last year which are more sandally but closed in toe which would be perfect.but cannot see anything similar in Clarks this year unfortunately

MrsBadger · 05/05/2008 20:47

difficult, isn;t it?
I have to have closed toes for work and struggle in summer. Your best bet are espadrilley type things - these are not flattering to fat ankles

bunny3 · 05/05/2008 23:14

oooh, MrsB, they are rather nice. I have good ankles so can get away with ankle straps.

ST, I know the Clarks ones you mean, I nearly bought them last year, am kicking myself now.

mt2anm, my toenail went funny after having ds (he's now 7!!). Since then I have tried several paint-on remedies from gp (usesless), lamisil from chiropodist (useless), teatree oil (doesnt penetrate but has stopped it getting worse) and now am going to try epsom salts after googling in desperation. Last week I rang a local chiropodist and asked if he would remove my nail ... he wouldnt . tis a bugger.

i have a pair of those monsoon ones from last year in green, they're v comfortable.

moondog · 05/05/2008 23:18

Bunny, pure teatree oil will do it,but be patient.

dingdong05 · 05/05/2008 23:30

sorry to hijack, but what's this about tt oil and epsom salts for fungal nails? I too developed one after ds was born 4 years ago and have lost hope it will ever shift!

moondog · 06/05/2008 08:35

Dunno about the salts but aFTER TWO lots of tablets from GP which i took to no avail ,painting my nail with tea tree oil night and day for a month or so worked.

Purplepillow · 06/05/2008 08:46

I too have a fungal nail and yet again mumsnet has come to the rescue

Thank you oh wise ones

dingdong05 · 06/05/2008 13:54

Really? Use 100% oil in am and pm should clear it up in a month or so?
Gasp!
