My engagement ring has broken and the stone is lost. I want to get a replacement and don't want to spend a lot but I've seen adverts for this company called tru diamonds . Has anyone heard of them?
They look very blingy and have a sale at the moment .
Or are they just overpriced tat?

Have you seen the rings on The Jewellery Channel (ch 662 on Sky).

It's got really well priced lab made real diamond rings.

2ct G-H colour, platinum solitaire ring. £997.99.

That was in November so not sure what it is now but I was tempted! 2cts is massive.

Personally I'd look at a Moissanite stone. They're as hard as diamonds, even look like diamonds but a fraction of the price.

I have a 1 carat moissanite, lab grown gem stone, looks like a diamond, tests as a diamond too. Cost me less than £100 from Etsy, it is set in a silver setting. There are comparisons on youtube that show a diamond, a lab diamond and a moisannite. The moisannite is so much cheaper than the lab diamond or the mined diamond. A moisannite will throw a little more fire when in direct sunlight but that adds to the beauty.

This is moisannite vs lab grown diamond.

Technically a lab grown diamond is every much a diamond as a natural one. Its chemical composition is exactly the same. The reason it's cheaper is due to the scarcity of natural diamonds which drives up the price. Plus companies like De Beers had a monopoly on diamond mining for years so controlled the price. However, there's a lot of ethical issues with diamond mining so lab grown diamonds are a good choice in many respects. My engagement ring is also missing a stone and I'm going to replace it with a lab grown diamond.

I have a tru diamonds necklace which i really like. It was a lot nicer than the website made out (their website/photos are terrible). It's not a lab diamond though. There's info in the FAQ section of the website about the type of stone. The no risk money back guarantee isn't as good as it sounds. Think you have to pay to return so worth checking out before you order. They are always heavily discounted so don't buy anything at full price.
