Hair extensions for long bob

I have thin hair and currently it’s quite long. I have developed a yearning recently (since reaching my 40s) for a long bob. I was wondering about putting extensions in to make it look thicker. Anyone else done this? What type of extensions did you get? Are extensions damaging? How long do they take to put in? I’m worried about ending up on a slippery, expensive , time consuming slope.

I have extensions, just past shoulder length. My own hair was a similar length but very fine and I had to wash it daily as it just wouldn't hold a style.

I had nano ring extensions at the start of summer and I absolutely love them. My hair looks so much fuller and thicker. They've taken years off me and I've had so many compliments on my hair. The upkeep isn't too bad once you get used to it. You do need to dry your hair properly after it's been washed. It takes longer as you have more hair. I apply serum daily, no swimming or salt water and it needs plaiting or tying back in bed. I'm used to it now and it's no bother really.

In terms of cost, mine cost around £250 for the hair itself and need replacing around once a year. it's around £100 every 8-10 weeks to have the extensions moved up. If you need a colour on your roots the you'll also need to factor this in. No cuts though so you'll save there.

Really happy with mine but it is a commitment in terms of the cost and maintenance.
