Protecting the ends of my hair

This seems as though it might be something I should already know but does anyone have any (actual effective) tips for protecting the ends of my hair from splitting and ‘fraying? I’m talking products, effective hair styles, heat protection.

I am currently using a leave in conditioner, an OUAI hair oil when drying my hair and rosemary oil once per week. I am also taking some hair growth vitamins I picked up from H&B (might be snake oil who knows). My hair does seem thicker from the root but now I want to protect the ends specifically. Is it just regular trims, and if so how do I square that with wanting slightly longer hair? (Or is it just not compatible?)

Splitting and fraying is usually down to heat and rough treatment - brushing/combing out

Theres nothing you can buy thats going to make any difference, all those products do is coat the cells to make it look smoother

Regular trims and stop using direct heat will help. Along with a good diet.

Even wanting to grow your hair longer you do need to have a wee trim every couple of months

Agree with @suki1964 ….avoid heat and too much brushing, gentle products and a trim every now and then. No magic product will repair fragile or damaged hair ends, so important to keep them healthy.

A few years ago I used bleach on my hair (never again!) and for the first time started getting split ends. I used Redken spilt ends spray on wet hair after washing and it did help.
