Peach Fuzz on Face

Brody021 · 06/01/2025 23:59

need advice on removing peach fuzz from my face. I’m in my 60s and very fair. Checked with beautician and was told lazer doesn’t work well for fair hair. It’s driving me crazy as it’s very noticeable. Any advice greatly appreciated.

It's normal and healthy, do not remove it. Down is normal

Electrolysis

I dermaplane (which basically means shave) regularly. Never had a stubble or thickness. Makes my skin baby soft as if you do it after a shower, also removes dead skin cells.

Printedword · 07/01/2025 00:34

Peach fuzz is the definition of baby softness. Do not shave it, you will ruin your skin, complexion and create stubble from nothingness

I dermaplane as well, have done for a few years. It doesn't leave stubble or grow back thicker. Make-up goes on far better and it exfoliates the skin.

Anyone saying 'it's normal' etc clearly haven't lived with long, fluffy peach fluff. It's more than just an attractive 'peach' look. When I dermaplane it small clumps of fluff come off.

I had this conversation with my friends- their solution- telling me many many women bleach their facial hair to get it peach in colour- leave as is! Weirdly I don’t care about it anymore!

Not true. Shaving it has improved my skin and I have never had stubble.

I use one of those multi tools where you can trim your eyebrows with one attachment, and remove the fuzz with another. It does look better and doesn’t harm the skin. I find vellus hair gets longer and more plentiful as you age and removing it makes me feel nicer.

I use a dermaplaning tool for peach fuzz and those horrible dark chin and upper lip hairs. Give it it try they are so cheap, £3 for a pack of 3 in Superdrug.

Pigsinblankets13 · 07/01/2025 06:33

Definitely dermaplanning - as PP said can get a pack cheap from superdrug but if not confident doing it yourself then go for a dermaplan facial. It's so nice to have done your skin will feel silky smooth and products go on your skin so much better!

knitnerd90 · 07/01/2025 06:44

I started dermaplaning a couple of years ago. I never minded my peach fuzz before but I swear it's thicker now, especially under my chin. Those hairs were getting inches long! It doesn't damage my skin a bit, it looks better if anything.

Oblomov25 · 07/01/2025 06:55

I've never removed mine. It wasn't really a thing until recently.

Doingmybest12 · 07/01/2025 06:58

I used to have it all threaded until lock down, then bought a cheap little battery razor designed for the purpose from a supermarket. It works fine , threading was better but not better enough to make me book and take time out to go and do it. Mine was fair and worried me all my life from about 10 years, such a happy thing to take the plunge and fet rid of it. But I don't notice it on others.

foodtoorder · 07/01/2025 07:00

Dermaplaning. Although its natural to have it, some do have more than others and it can affect how make up sits etc.
I pay at a salon to have mine done and it's so quick, painless and definitely helps the skin turn over and prevents dullness. I go every 10weeks or so, sometimes longer.

Bignanna · 07/01/2025 15:22

I bought a cheap gadget from Amazon. No good for coarse hairs, but fine for whizzing over peach fuzz once a week.

Bignanna · 07/01/2025 15:25

Peach fuzz is thousands of tiny, soft hairs, so that won’t help!

Another vote for derma planing. I only developed it in perimenopause. It hasn't grown back thicker. I don't have stubble. I actually don't even do it that often as I only notice it when it gets fairly long, so once a month maybe?

Brody021 · 07/01/2025 19:08

Thanks ladies for all your replies. I googled Dermaplaning.. the little tools look like old fashioned cut throat razors 😳 are they easy to use or do you need a very steady hand??

They are really easy to use, I've only nicked myself once. You use very small movements. Have a look at a YouTube video of someone doing it and you will see the technique.

StMarie4me · 07/01/2025 20:37

I'm 62 and I dermaplane. I do not get nasty stubble, and it definitely reduces that "older lady" look.

Ask in boots for some suitable dermaplaning razors.

Brody021 · 12/01/2025 00:43

Thanks Dunkou. Will have a look on YouTube
