Red cheeks-coverage

Looking for something that will cover my redness! It only happens in certain situations- when I'm flustered, presenting at work, when I've had a couple of glasses of wine etc. When I'm not in one of these situations my cheeks are a normal colour! I'm thinking it must be some form of rosacea as they get really hot when this happens too.

I feel like it shows how I'm feeling on the inside when I'm embarrassed etc so really would like the ability to cover it up so people don't notice, it would give me more confidence at work especially.

I'm 34 and have normal to dry skin, I really like a dewy foundation but the one I use doesn't cover the redness at all. I've found any full coverage sticks to my fine lines and I feel ages me. Tried putting Charlotte Tilbery concealer and Huda beauty colour corrector on my cheeks under foundation but it STILL shows through these. Also tried Eborian cc red correct under foundation but that doesn't hide it either!!

Any suggestions would be most appreciated 🤞

Following with interest as I have a similar problem. I thought it was the tannins in wine, but I am doing dry January and did the same thing today!

I have used the Maybelline colour correct primer with no 7 hyaluronic foundation on top. That works to a small extent. It's certainly moisturising though, and I don't think (hope) it doesn't age me.

I also never use blusher!

I find Rosalique quite good.

Ohh no , sorry you also have the rosy cheek situation !! It's so annoying isn't it.

My routine does help slightly too, I think I was being slightly dramatic on my first post 😅 but it doesn't eliminate it altogether, can still see a lot of redness through all the layers which I want to get rid of really.

I find bronzer instead of blusher helps a bit x

Dr Jart Cicipair(?) is good and neutralises well, bit of a faff to apply as it comes in a pot (i hate putting make up on with my fingers, not sure why!)
Eborian CC cream for redness (green tube) is brilliant, as someone with rosacea it’s probably the best colour corrector I’ve used.
However for years I used the Boots No7 colour correcting primer and I still rate it.
Revolution also do a colour correcting primer which is good for the price, especially if you only use it occasionally

I get it though @Roseeverything ! You're trying to look sophisticated and stylish and up pop the five year olds rosy cheeks!! Drives me crazy 🤣

I've tried several things and I'm happiest with Dr jart tiger balm colour correcting cream. They also have serum but I have not tried it.

I think primark do a dupe.

I use revolution colour corrector super base and also have you tried antihistamines ? I finally clicked and saw the link between taking them and my colour blushes.

I have rosacea and none of the colour correcting stuff has ever covered my redness. Nars light reflecting foundation works really well for me, it’s dewy but great coverage and you can layer it. Nars radiant concealer is also great for any extra coverage needed.

I like Doll10 TCE range (This Covers Everything range).

I buy on QVC uk because you get a couple of months to try it out and send whatever is left back for a full no quibble refund. All you pay is postage both ways.

I have sent things back occasionally and they really do refund you no questions asked. No credit checks either.

Have a google at item number 252076 which is a makeup set for £48 + £3.95 postage. You can get it home for £16 + £3.95 though on monthly easypays.

I don't mind spending postage to try something. Better than spending a lot of money on something I don't like and then I'm stuck with it.

Thanks for the tips everyone! I'll look into what everyone has suggested.

I'll use all the products I mention in the morning when I have normal colour cheeks and then after a meeting where I've been presenting I'll be bright red and the redness has somehow gone through all the makeup. @Ineedanewsofa the eborian green cc cream only takes the edge off it unfortunately but I do like the texture of this cream, it feels really nice!@watchuswreckthemic oo no I've never thought of antihistamines as it seems to be more of a embarrassment reaction than an allergy? I does happen with alcohol too though.
@HollyGolightly4 haha exactly 😅 i hate it!! I can feel when it's starting to happen too as they'll start getting hot and I know I don't have long until other people notice it so I'll try rush through whatever I'm saying which probably makes it worse!
