I fancy a fringe (or is it bangs), where to start?

Fine hair, pretty straight. Looks thin at temples but stylist swears it is fine. Gets washed every other day but remains in good nick. Got a fair bit of forehead and quite bit of chin. Wear specs. What will suit me and balance my face? I know I don't know want a thick blunt heavy fringe at eyebrow level but that's about it.

Ask your stylist.

Ask your stylist.

He's nice but he's so passive he'll tell me I should do what I think is best. Actually, maybe I should try someone else at the same place 😂he really ought to be able to advise

Isnt there some sort of app to have a try at hairstyles?

The good thing about hair and fringes. Is they grow out if you don't like them.

Maybe try a different stylist.

I Def can't help as I have a blunt fringe at eyebrow level! It covers my wide forehead and frames my glasses nicely.
Maybe you could try a curtain fringe in a longer length to start, although I found it a pita to have layers at the side as they kinked weirdly around my glasses.

Do you trim it yourself? I've neither the patience or the money for frequent trimming trips which is what puts me off

I do mine myself. Started in lockdown. Generally just trim the ends but recently I went a bit further than layering the sides and cut in a fringe. It’s a bit amateur but my hair has never been « perfect » so if it’s a bit messy I don’t mind, and I figure I can always have another go once it grows a bit. Also straight hair, shoulder length, sometimes wear glasses. I’m really pleased with it atm.

I started with a really wispy fringe - literally just a few strands at the front. Before that I had a side parting bob style. Then have gradually had the fringe thickened slightly.

Try bringing some of your hair round so it drapes over your forehead and clip in place , that'll give you an idea.
I have gone through No Fringe - Fringe -Grow Out Fringe- Fringe Again.

Current fringe is long wispy but my hair is wavy so I can push it back out of the way ;
I wear a hat at work so it gets pulled back by that .

Cheaper than Botox I reckon.

yes, in fact I cut all my hair myself. Its easy for me as my hair is fairly thin and its in a blunt bob with a fringe, all of which are simple to do (with no skill!).
TBH even curtain fringes or layered ones arent that hard to do yourself.
