Tinted moisturiser that isn't basically a foundation

I've been looking for absolutely ages for a tinted moisturiser that's actually just a tint of colour. All the ones I've tried are just as much coverage as a foundation and I'm starting to wonder if one even exists?

I genuinely don't care if it's £5 or £50 but hoping someone on here can recommend something!

Clinique do a good one and No7, I use both. I'd say the No7 is lighter on the skin

I find the Clinique one way too heavy .

Laura Mercier have a much lighter one which is very good.

Trinny London BFF serum - 1 pump rather than the two it says to use.

StormingNorman · 02/01/2025 01:21

I find the Laura Mercier one too heavy. Particularly the oil-free version. Hourglass is so much lighter and sheerer.

Cluckycluck · 02/01/2025 07:33

@Catinabox21 Trinny BFF is my holy grail product but I am about to pull the trigger and buy the LE so I will report back

I used to use Nars tinted moisturiser and am now using Lisa Eldridge skin tint, they're both good. I can't find much between them!

whymewhyme · 02/01/2025 07:39

Last year I was in b&m my it cosmetics ran out and they had the garnier original cc cream for a fiver, though why not!!! Expected it to be awful but my god it's great! Makes my skin look flawless and lasts all day and it lasts forever! I love it!

FiddlefigOnTheRoof · 02/01/2025 07:54

Nars is excellent - get colour matched in person.

if Nars coverage is too much for you, try Bare Minerals.

The advantage of both brands is there is a wide variety of shades.

Catinabox21 · 02/01/2025 08:07

@Cluckycluck yes please! I feel somewhat disloyal even thinking about it because I love BFF so much. But I'm an absolute sucker for this kind of product.

TheOGCCL · 02/01/2025 09:08

I like Nars tinted but it’s quite thick imo. The sheerest I’ve personally found is Glossier, to the extent I didn’t like it as it felt a bit pointless.

GetOnWithLife · 02/01/2025 09:16

I really like Rimmel BB cream, just a pea sized amount is enough and I apply it with a buffing brush, I found just using my fingers makes it too heavy

wickedelphaba · 02/01/2025 10:01

Lurking

ScupperedbytheSea · 02/01/2025 10:12

Nars tinted moisturiser is absolutely fab.

Blarn · 02/01/2025 10:34

Laura Mercia for me too. I actually prefee the oil free one as that give a bit more foundation-y cover, the original one in the light coloured tube is definitely a tinted moisturiser.

ThejoyofNC · 02/01/2025 10:49

Hmm, nars has come up a lot and so has trinny London. I might venture into boots today to see if any of the ones suggested are in store with a tester. Will report back!

Just mix moisturiser with your usual foundation to make a tinted moisturiser. Add a couple of drops of a liquid highlighter for.a natural looking glow.

Cluckycluck · 02/01/2025 11:08

@ThejoyofNC The Trinny return policy is fantastic. I bought something that just didn't work for me and I was able to return for a full refund. They will accept lightly used products back so if you did purchase and decide straight away it wasn't for you you will be able to return.

Housewife2010 · 02/01/2025 11:08

I love the Lisa Eldridge skin tint. It gives a gorgeous light finish and I use it year round. Glossier Skin Tint is nice but very sheer - pre Lisa Eldridge I used it every summer. I have good skin so this and a little Glossier concealer was enough for me.
Trinny BFF Destress serum is nice and makes my skin look natural and glowy. It's a long time since I used Bare Minerals, Laura Mercier and Nars, but the Lisa Eldridge has impressed me the most.

VictoriaEra2 · 02/01/2025 11:18

Here to follow post. I used to use hdraquench by clarins but they’ve discontinued. I’ve wasted so much money trying to find something that’s not foundation.
