Hot air brush THICK hair edition

Hello. Shoulder length extremely thick hair here. Looking for a new hot air brush to use when hair 80% dry. Currently have babyliss air styler but it's not powerful enough as takes forever and my hair is very fluffy afterwards (which happens when my heat is too slow) Would like something to finish drying hair and make it sleek and thin looking (like straighteners maybe) and to turn the ends back inwards as it sticks out off my shoulders. What's best please?

Hi, OP -

My hair is shoulder length, definitely thick to very thick and wavy, but I wouldn’t call it extremely thick.

My best styling ever was with the Revlon One Step Volumiser. I could use it to easily smooth and style, turning hair under or flipping it out, and doing a great job on my curtain bangs.

Unlike the Babyliss, the brush does not rotate. I discarded my Babyliss drying/styling brush because my hair kept getting caught in it. I find the Revlon much easier and safer to use.

It is 820 watts. That’s about the strength of a blow dryer from my youth, I don’t know what it means to you. I usually shower before breakfast, wrap my head or air dry for about 30 min, and then it is ready to finish off with the Revlon brush.

+1 for the Revlon One Step.

+2 for the Revlon - doesn’t pull your hair like the Babyliss which might help reduce your fluff problem

Another vote for the Revlon one step. It's been my best purchase of the past couple of years. It's much better than the more expensive one which it replaced.

poetryandwine · 01/01/2025 14:23

PS I recently lost my Revlon brush, hence the change of tense in my post. I am about to order a new one.

Revlon 1 step! Haven't looked back since I got it a few years ago.

VelvetWildflower · 01/01/2025 14:24

Babyliss Big Hair is my go to.

Thanks all! I have been researching Dyson and ghd wet to straight straighteners... But maybe Revlon is the way to go!

Shark Smoothstyle. I have really thick curly hair, and the smoothing combs give a much better result than Revlon and with less heat damage.

I managed to get my thick curly hair from wet
To straight in 10 mins it's incredible

Since buying my revlon one step, I no longer use my Dyson airwrap.

LoafofSellotape · 03/01/2025 23:54

Revlon one step. I had a Babyliss Big Hair but my hair is too thick.

booisbooming · 04/01/2025 00:18

Revamp Progloss is exactly this! I love mine. About £50 from Boots. Nice big barrel.

Thanks all! I went for shark pro speedstyle in the end and it's amazing. The flyaway function makes my hair look half as thick and it was very fast
