How do I rescue my brittle, damaged hair 😞

Well just that.
It's blonde, I know this doesn't help but I've always been blonde and I have autism so changing this is so difficult for me.
My hair is naturally fine and frizzy so I straighten it. Again I know this is the culprit, but I find it impossible to not do it. I use a heat protector spray but it makes no difference.

I've tried a number of shampoos, masks, collagen, biotin, feels like everything.

So what would you recommend? I'm willing to stop straightening if I can do d a treatment that takes the frizz out, it's completely breaking off around my crown and sides, so scared I'm going to have to cut it all off as I don't suit short hair. I really don't.
Willing to spend money on this.
TIA

i agree with PPs who have suggested a keratin blow dry and a silk sleeping cap.
i also swear by Power conditioner by Lush. Definitely wasn’t my go to for quality hair care - I was committed to salon brands and particularly Kerastase, but I tried it and the difference was marked. I use it as a conditioner every time I wash, also an overnight mask on occasion and a tiny bit in my ends when they are dry. It’s made a huge difference to my dry hair.

Biggest help for me was stopping the salon dying and using the gentler home box dyes instead (and I’m close to 100% grey).

Then last year I stupidly got talked into having my hair dyed at a salon, with assurances that this was a new “gentle” permanent dye….. immediately the frizz was back.

It’s taken since then to recover, but I’m nearly there now.

I slather my hair in organic coconut oil (the supermarket stuff, that people buy to roast their potatoes in!) for 2 hours twice a week.

Splashed out on Dyson Air Straight, so no more heated straighteners.

K18 mask! Please watch before and afters on Tik Tok. It was INSTANT miracles for my hair

It was so, so bad to the point the end would break in my fingers. Didn't help after I swam in the sea abroad and even after a bottle of conditioner on my head I could feel it ripping and breaking as I tried to detangle it. I have a different head now because of that mask lol! It's the only thing I've ever been influenced to buy and I've gone from waking up, showering and spending 40 minutes trying to calm my awful, frizzy, dry, didnt-even-feel-like-hair head to being able to let my washed hair dry naturally on my drive into work and it'll be sat all glossy and tidy on my shoulders by the time I get in. My brush glides through it too. The only thing I've added into my routine since ( as I now don't feel so defeated haha ( is a scalp massage for a couple of minutes a day and I like to use The Ordinary Serum on my scalp now too, I wouldn't say that changed my brittle hair though but is just a part of a wider routine x

I was going to suggest K18.

It repairs your hair in its natural form.

For me with curly/frizzy hair I've had to adapt to the fact it makes my hair curler!

But I use cansu shampoo and K18 and dry with a diffuser and my hair looks and feels so much better.

I get with autism it's really hard to change your mindset (my ds has asd) but I think you may need to embrace the natural waves and find a way to make them look and feel healthier iyswim?

Regular cuts
No heat
Minimal products

I second this. Bleach and heat are the worst culprits for damaged brittle hair.

For coloured hair olaplex. For non coloured k18. As yours is coloured use olaplex. The difference in my hair is astonishing and I’ve used both. Olaplex works better on coloured.

so number 3, leave it on over night, not the ten mins, wash out next day. You are supposed to use number 1 for ten mins first but makes no difference for me. So skip it.

then after washing and conditioning, apply number 9, straight away and then number 6, just before drying, when dry finish off with a couple of drops of the oil.

use a good shampoo and conditioner. I now use oribe gold lust repair, it’s hugely expensive, but lasts ages and works wonders, they need to be used together ie you need to do both.

I also stopped using nice n easy, it was killing my hair, I’ve moved to Josh woods, and my hair looks so much better for it, and the colour doesn’t fade anywhere near as quick, but I’m brunette.

ive learned in hair care you get what you pay for. It is an investment, but all products last for ages.

i went from dull, lifeless brittle dry hair to swishy and shiny. Took about 3 months of treatments. With every time getting visibly better and better.

Oh and never brush your hair. I use a wide toothed comb. I want a new wooden one 🙂

I use a tangle teaser or paddle brush. I bought a wooden wide toothed comb and honestly it pulled my hair more than anything, and I binned it.

Oh that's strange. Did you comb from the bottom up? I find it glides through my hair so easily

Tha K you everyone, all of these answers and recommendations are really useful. I know it's easy to say just stop dyeing and straightening but that's a huge thing for me, but at the same time I know I need to do something, so scared it'll all just break off.
I've ordered the k18 and will order some Olaplex, as well as some of the shampoo recommendations you have all kindly posted.

I appreciate it thanks 🙏

Op, did you use the products, and how was it on your hair? Is it any better now? Found this thread and I'm in exactly the same position!
