Is there anything - skin care, injections, treatment - that ACTUALLY helps with dark circles?

tear trough fillers

Getting enough sleep, diet and MAC colour corrector in peach bisque for me. It looks positively orange against the dark circles but that is the point. They fade away underneath it.

@Solent123 I've heard mixed reviews of tear trough fillers. Have you done it and recommend?

My dark circles are genetic...had them since I was a teenager at least. Not holding out hope for a miracle, but would try anything at this point

What is your skin colour? My friends with Asian heritage swear by red lipstick.

The clinique dark circle treatment helps a little on fair skin but its just cosmetic.

yes - and it was easy, totally pain free and pretty much permeant in terms of results. I went to a well known Dr who's been on TV, but who was also recommended on mumsnet and well known locally. I had about three appointments at one price because it was about getting the right result, so she under-filled and topped up until she was happy with the end result. I also had to have a long chat with a nurse beforehand to discuss everything - but it was totally fine, I had it done about six years ago and I'm still happy with the results, before it was too depressing to look in the mirror. PM me if you want to know who I used.

I went gluten-free for a couple of months and mine completely disappeared. Came back when I started eating bread again.

Dark circles can be related to food allergies.

tear trough fillers

A lot of doctors don't recommend this any more cas there are so many sde effects and it sounds like your dark circles wouldn't be appropriate.

If they're genetic the best thing you can do is cover them up with make up.

Redhotchllisteppa · 31/12/2024 23:25

Ysl pure shots eye reboot works wonders

Wetcappuccino · 01/01/2025 09:49

Ren Vitamin C eye cream lightens mine a little bit.

VodkaCola · 01/01/2025 09:54

For me it's all about sleep and good concealer.

Elfbeth · 01/01/2025 09:57

I use origins ginzing eye cream and have had a noticeable improvement

lollylawyer · 01/01/2025 10:06

I’ve also got genetic dark circles AND bags. Also had since teens. Anything that covers the dark seems to highlight the bags! I agree bright lipstick detracts and peach concealer is better than a light one. I’ve got a colour corrector one from elf.

noobiedoobie · 01/01/2025 12:14

Inkey List caffeine under eye cream helped a little.

EvelynBeatrice · 01/01/2025 12:19

I decided the risks of tear trough filler were too high.

Some LED face masks have a discernible effect. The one I liked best has been discontinued but others help a bit. Make sure you choose a good one and protect your eyes. The mask shouldn’t be directly on the under eye area.

To help reduce dark circles, focus on gentle care and brightening ingredients. Use an eye cream with Vitamin C to lighten pigmentation and Hyaluronic Acid to keep the under-eye area hydrated and plump. Applying a cold compress can temporarily shrink blood vessels and reduce puffiness. Getting enough sleep and staying hydrated also make a big difference, as tired, dehydrated skin can make dark circles more noticeable.

Why wouldn't the tt fillers be appropriate for her.

As well as makeup, which doesn't cover mine only helping a bit, fake tan can be useful.

Thanks Chat GPT, but I don't believe any of this works for people with permanent dark circles.
