I had my colours done professionally with HOC then went down a rabbit hole on it due to ADHD so now consider myself an expert lol.
If you are confused you may not be an obvious subseason or the one that naturally fits your personality the most (but that is where style comes in).
IMHO the eyes reveal as much as skin tone, especially if you are unsure.
Winters - eyes tend to be one solid colour, has a piercing quality even if brown.
Summers - eyes often have a watercolour quality to them
Autumns - eyes often have warm flecks
Springs - can also have warm flecks, but in a starburst pattern, eyes often have a ring that is darker around them which is a child-like quality, and eyes are always most characteristically can be said to be BRIGHT, even if brown
So, Springs = bright and warm and clear, Winters = bright and cool and clear, Autumns = soft and warm and muted (although can still be very strong, think burnt orange, geranium reds etc.), and Summers = soft and cool and muted.
If you're not sure re. warm or cool, just consider your overall look - would people overall describe you as warm colouring?
Which red looks zingy and vibrant on you? Do you look vampy in blue reds (I do)? Do corals look good on you (like for springs)? Can you wear brick red lipstick with an orange undertone (springs and autumns)? Do you have certain colours lurking in your wardrobe that you love?
I'm a paintbox spring, yet I have brown chestnut hair, bright brown eyes (with an almost dark blue halo), very clear skin but it is covered in freckles so you can't tell that it's clear. I look best in the most saturated brightest colours (yet my personality is very chilled and calm). It gave me an existential crisis but now about 4 years later I do have a much more pared down wardrobe based on my colours. It's quite helpful as I know I can steer aways from certain neutrals like greige which do nothing for me and deep navy which far too harsh.
