I pretty much live in cheap wellies, a random pair of joggers/ old leggings, an old jumper & my dryrobe (
gifted from my boss - I know people hate them but it's my only warm coat & we've moved somewhere v cold).
Can't remember the last time I bought new clothes for myself - I'm ND and struggle to picture how clothes will look together, or realise when things look old/ need replacing.
So I want to have a good clear out & slowly start to build a capsule wardrobe!
Here's what's on my list so far (I saw two fashionable mums yesterday & wrote down what they were wearing
). I think it's best to choose neutral colours (beige/ camel etc); they seem to suit me & hopefully that'll mean everything goes together.
I'm 5ft 9, size 12/ 14 on top & 12 on the bottom, and I'm in my early 30s. I WFH & am mostly just out to do the school run, walk the dog, go on days out with DD & our friends etc so I don't need anything smart. I hate wearing jeans or anything non-elasticated when I'm working so I want to be comfy, but 'put together'.
Does anyone have any tips re where to buy things that will last, without spending a fortune? I can spend c £200 this month (birthday money!) and maybe £75 a month for a little while after whilst I'm building it up. Will worry about summery stuff later on.
I'm guessing the coats/ bags/ boots/ trainers will be the most pricey - have looked on Vinted but it's v overwhelming. Not sure which bits are actually good quality or would be right for the look I'm going for. This is ok if I'm buying something for a tenner but a bit scarier with more expensive purchases. Can I find decent coats etc on Vinted for £50ish or should I set the price a bit higher?
And then M&S for the rest, maybe? Or Uniqlo?
