Period pants: skin toned and strappy sides?

Hi All,
I'm after a pair of period pants my daughter can wear under a dance costume which has mesh sides.

In the past I've cut period pants up and sewn them into her costumes. But we are hoping this new dress will allow her to wear pants as my efforts don't lie flat and become bunched up.

I've been looking all morning but can't find what I have in mind. I'm thinking bikini style with very thin sides, cream/beige. Any ideas?

Thanks 🙏

Modibodi is always my go to.
They have skin toned seamless hi-legged or seam free thongs…

Knicked Australia. They have period pants specifically for teens doing dance called Dance Diva. They post internationally.

Thank you both.

I can't get me head round a thong as period protection wear?

The Aussie company look brilliant. But ideally I need them for next weekend 🫣.

Does anyone have any other ideas? Her costume is split on both sides up to her waist. But the splits are covered in tan mesh. I may have to do a DIY job again.

All of the girls will presumably be in the same boat.

Perhaps buy a square meter of the skin coloured material and sew blocks of it onto regular period pants at both sides. The other girls may want the offcuts to do the same. You never know when a period may show up and spoil the night.

As it comes in different colours you might want to choose a couple of colours.

An alternative could be to cut up the thicker 'body' part of a pair of tights and use a few layers of that to sew onto pants, but it could be bulky.

If you could get tights the right colour they could be worn over skin tone period pants to hide them. But it's finding ones that provide suitable coverage but don't have a different colour body to the legs that's hard.

Fine and dandy to have sexy dance clothes but they aren't practical!

That's true.

I quite like the idea of butchering some tights actually! I wonder if my sewing skills will stretch that far. But tights to cover the sides is an excellent idea, thank you.

Modibodi also do period convertible tights for dance, but I think they only do pink and black. Dd often wears them under her leotard when it’s that time of the month.

You might want to have a word with the dance teacher, or whoever picks the costumes, to prevent this scenario from happening again. It's very thoughtless.

Absolutely agree with this. Ridiculous choice of leotard.

OttersAreMySpiritAnimal · 30/12/2024 14:37

Not what you are looking for, but might a mooncup be a good choice in this scenario? Then she can wear whatever she likes.

Is it worth using reusable pads instead?

Is a tampon an option?
