Dyson AirWrap rubbish on fine hair

I got the new Dyson Air Wrap as a 40th gift, which is so expensive and was such a surprise. However, I’m finding it absolutely rubbish on my fine hair. I’ve watched various different YouTube videos. I’ve always done it whilst it’s still damp. It just leaves my hair into a frizzy loose wave that has gone within the hour. It’s nothing like using the straightening iron or curling tong on already dry hair.
There are so many design flaws with it Including that if you have fine hair, it blows about so much that you end up just undoing the curl that you’ve done. It feels a bit like putting your head inside multiple hand dryers. I’ve used priming product, I’ve sectioned it out. If there’s anything else I’m doing wrong, please tell me because right now I feel like I’ve wasted his money.

I agree. Tried absolutely everything but nothing worked. The curls fell out within an hour. I sold it in the end

I have found this as well, curls don't stay, thinking of giving it to someone

Its not designed for fine hair that doesnt hold a curl well, believe me, I've tried.

Oh I love it for my fine hair. I don't use it for curl though, I use it to curl then brush through and it gives the kind of bounce I've never achieved before. Agree the curls don't stay in but the volume is unmatched. But my hair is poker straight and doesn't frizz.

Same. Returned mine to Dyson for a full refund.

I would love something for my crap fine hair - I have shark blow dry brush that’s quite good but I don’t absolutely love it

I agree. Kept my Dyson dryer to minimise damage and use Revlon styler while slightly damp. Airwrap didn't do anything for my fine hair so I sold it.

I feel so guilty. My DH really splashed out and it was his own idea as he knows I hate my stick straight slippery hair. I wonder if John Lewis will take it back? It’s so expensive just to be a fancy hair dryer. I agree the smoothing brush is really good and makes my hair even smoother, but I think overall it’s an invention for thicker or wavy haired people.

I have thick, wavy hair and the curling attachments are no good for me. The round brush is good for my fringey bits.

I got mine from JL and by the time I'd realised it really didn't work for me, I'd used it quite a bit so I didn't ask for a refund. I know Dyson direct are pretty good for returns (and QVC) but I'm not sure about JL.

I initially bought mine to curl but found it useless but kept it for the sift brush which is amazing.

I recently read that they have changed advice on curling from having hair damp to having hair pretty wet. I keep meaning to try, maybe give if a go before you return?

I do think John Lewis would take it back, it doesn't do what it's supposed to do.

For those that sold their airwraps where did you sell it? I barely use mine so thinking of selling it on and getting a hot brush instead.
