Skechers - how is the sizing?

I need a new pair of walking boots - hoofing round a muddy park rather than hiking up a mountain. I'm thinking of Skechers and would love to order online but need to know whether I would need to size up or down or just take usual size. Thanks

I found that they are a bit big, I usually go down a half size. Suppose it also depends on the style too. 🤔
I've got a pair of brown suede Timberland ish sketchers I wear in the winter, lasting well, on their 3rd winter.

They vary across the styles massively.
They go loose/stretch quickly and are crappy quality for their rrp. They are not good if you have any ankle or foot issues as they are too spongey. ( My mum occasionally wears one style because they are easy to put on)
My physio therapist has 'banned' them

Yes, If you have any foot problems I'd not get skechers at all, as they probably don't have the support you need.
Maybe look at Ecco or at proper walking boots.

'My physio therapist has 'banned' them'

That's interesting - are there any brands that they do recommend?

'Shoes that you feel the ground'
Not necessarily brands but all the physios I've seen have said they are crap! Esp for PF and any stability issues.

Half a size down

BashfulClam · 26/12/2024 18:08

I had to get a 5 when I am usually a 6/7 they are really big.

fuzzychic · 26/12/2024 19:29

They're massive

Roselilly36 · 26/12/2024 19:32

I find them accurate for sizing, but if I needed specialist type footwear, ie golf shoes or walking boots, I am not sure if I would recommend Skechers. I bought golf shoes for DH & DS they were very poor quality and didn’t last 5mins.

I wear skechers for most things these days as they are comfortable and wear well. Usually I am a 39, and with Skechers I am 39 to 40 (not very helpful I guess!) I can wear the go walk shoes all day walking through airports etc and my feel are happy at the end of the day. Not sure how good they would be for hiking. I also wore go walk in Seville for three days - covering around 16km a day - again, my feel were very comfortable.

Thanks for the responses. I've decided to go for Ecco instead as I do get some joint pain in my feet

Ecco are usually really good, hope they work for you
