How to Style "Irish" Hair

I have mid length hair that is very wavy, almost curly at the back and lower layers then almost straight from the ears forward. I've been trying for around 2 years to use curly methods in case that would convince the front sections to develop a wave, all to no avail. I saw something on Reels that described this hair type as "Irish" I don't have any Irish roots so I'm not sure it's that scientific but was nice to finally see someone else with the same hair type.

Anyway; I was hoping there'd be some styling tips in the comments but nothing, so any ideas? I usually just clip back the front sections but I'm bored of that but also don't have much time/skill to do much else. If a particular cut would work I'd be open to changing that as well, I have a fringe but am in the process of growing it out.

Those who find a keratin treatment helps... what is that? Like a mask?

Yes I have the curly thick hair of my irish forebears..i wash twice a week .lots of aussie conditioner and half dry with warm not hot air..also now naturally grey with streaks..so it mostly does its own thing..cannot blow dry as it goes to straw..but friends do compliment my hair !!

We call it the family hair. It's so thick and faintly wavy. All colours, super healthy, always ready for a party.
Pointless wasting money on endless products tbh. Used to have a wavy Rachel from friends but that's so dated have changed to mid length layered Bob with messy ends. So embracing the wave. Been complemented on my elegant new style which is a new thing.

It's def hereditary:) not just Ireland though.

Ha ha! I am Irish and this is my hair. I co-wash with conditioner and avoid all silicone-based products. Use gel and only comb my hair when wet.

I have an Irish grandmother and inherited her hair type. So thick, coarse, no limit on the amount of moisture it'll take, corkscrew curls, wavy bits underneath, and a random straight bit at the back. It's wild, strawberry blonde and refuses to be tamed. I like to compare it to a lions mane. I pile the moisture on, diffuse but ultimately leave it to it's own devices. I am here for the product recommendations though. Personally I like Shea Moisture, Cantu avocado shampoo, and randomly Head and Shoulders if I'm clarifying followed by an apple cider vinegar rinse (very dilute)
