Dry sensitive skin care

Just back from a hot holiday (just a short break, don't hate me haha), I have pretty sensitive skin anyway and it's now very dry.

I was currently using a few different things - Liz Earle cleanse and polish, or Bare Minerals cleansing oil and a collagen toner, followed by Ordinary salicylic acid serum, and Evolve Rosehip oil. I'm not sure that routine was great as it felt more crinkley than when I was just using Simple Cleanser and Weleda SkinFood. I was trying new products as the pores on my nose get blocked.

I'm just confused now what to use. I'm 44. Hoping for hydrated skin. Any suggestions of a routine? I prefer products that are on the 50%+ natural ingredients side which does limit options more.

I've been buying products on Vinted and don't mind experimenting. Help.

Water! Drink more heal from the inside out
Weleda skinfood is heavy so most moisturisers will feel lighter in comparison.
Why the salicylic acid?
Rosehip oil good for dry skin

I guess I did drink a bit of alcohol on holiday, I don't normally drink. I read somewhere that SA serum helped lock in moisture without blocking pores. Probably won't buy it again though.

Salicylic acid unblocks pores and helps resurface the skin. Are you sure you’re not muddling it up with hyaluronic acid? That does indeed boost the skin’s ability to retain moisture.

Do you know your skin type?
Could you have a consult somewhere, see what they recommend in terms of products , then you can research your preferred brands?

I often get very dry skin at this time of year and have tried MANY things!

You need to remove the dead skin - just applying more cream on top won’t do anything - it’s dead.

I find the best way to do this, is with a warm wet face cloth. Acid and other exfoliators just hurt my already sensitive skin.

When your skin is still damp, apply your chosen face serum.

Let that soak in for a minute or so and when just dry, get your rich moisturiser on top. Don’t be sparing, make sure you’re generous and really massage in.

I’m not sure if it complies with your requirements but I can highly recommend the Lancôme moisturiser for dehydrated skin (Hydra Zen). I really like Elemis cleansing balm to take make up off first. For serum, I’m currently using Estee Lauder advanced night repair but can’t say I’m overly impressed and will be trying something else when I’ve finished the bottle!

Thanks I'll have a look out for the Elemis balm on Vinted. I'm sure I saw someone selling it for £10.

I went on the Ordinary and ordered the moisturiser with HA factors and bioceramides. It has 5% urea.

In the meantime, I know it's bad but I put Flexitol on my face on the driest patches. It's helped soften the skin.

I forget the cold weather takes its toll and it needs more intensive moisturisers in winter.

I have been using the La roche posay moisturiser and its good for dry skin. Here goes my routine if you would be interested:
Morning:
Using water to wash your face,
Sebamed clear face gel,
Garnier spf
Cicaplast
Evening:
LRP moisturizer,
Tretinoin (0.1) from skinorac
Sebamed clear facial gel
