Clothes for Canary Islands in January

Please does anyone have experience of packing for a winter holiday in Fuerteventura? I'm going for the first time at the beginning of January. I'm hoping for some better weather (and expecting wind!) but not sure what to pack. I know I need warm clothes for the evening, but not sure if daytime 'summery' outfits are OTT. The thought of wearing summer clothes feels odd atm! My usual style for warm weather is midi dresses/wide leg cropped trousers. I don't wear shorts btw.
Thank you!

What you have described sounds fine. I would bring a loose cardigan out in case of wind or sun to protect shoulders. Just have a look nearer the time to check temperatures. I found the beach quite cold due to the wind so bring a warm jumper.

Thank you @Spaceid
Can you recall if people wore summer style clothes? We usually go to the mainland in winter, and I tend to wear jeans/chinos/short sleeved tops when I'm there. I'm hoping it will be warmer in the CI. I have hold luggage, but don't want to overpack.

What you've described is fine.

This used to be our January trip, I'd wear cropped jeans or trousers with a t-shirt to breakfast.

We tended to walk in shorts and vest or strapless top in the morning when it tends to be a bit cloudier, I'd then wear shorts or a summer dress to lunch and then we'd hang out by the pool in the afternoon.

I'd wear a summer dress plus cardi or jacket for the evening. The sun tends to drop away around 5 30pm ish and it can get quite chilly in the evenings so definitely take cover up for the evenings.

My packing isn't much different for a January trip than a summer one, other than the evening layers. You'll see a real range of outfits.

I'd take a lightweight waterproof, you may get a day of rain (or just sit in the bar 🤣).

@Seasidewalker thank you for your reply. We will have a similar type of holiday, so that's really helpful.

Travel in warm clothes as you'll feel the cold when you arrive back in the UK.

Following for a January canaries trip. Was planning summery clothes with extra layers/jacket for evening.

Take warm pyjamas/nightwear!

Been to Fuerteventura several times. I wear a shirt and denim jacket over a t-shirt for the plane and these serve me well whilst I'm there. The shirt serves as a cover-up if the sun's likely to cause a problem, and also as an extra layer. Rarely need to wear the demin jacket; but if I do it goes with everything.

We go to the Canaries every January. Take slippers or slipper socks and a dressing gown. The evenings/mornings are chilly. Between 11am and 4pm if you are in a sheltered spot it will be warm so don’t forget your bikini too.

Thank you @itsnotmeitsu and @AnyFucker
That's good advice. I think the hotel provides robes, but I will definitely pack my fluffy slippers.
