GP says not and irony is the steroids are to treat a swollen face!!
I'm feeling really down about it 😕

Does it go when she stops the steroids

Depends on the dose and how sensitive you are, as someone who's very sensitive to them I'd say its unlikely and any puffiness may be only noticeable to you, when you're looking for it. And yes, it will disappear quickly when the u days are up, don't worry.

Regalrosie · 11/12/2024 18:45

No youll be fine on 7 days - I’ve been on them almost 3 years and didn’t start getting any bloating on my face for months and that’s on a very high dose.

StarsBeneathMyFeet · 11/12/2024 18:45

Yes mine settled down but not immediately. Took a few weeks after the steroids.

Mudflaps · 11/12/2024 18:52

When I started needing them years ago I'd get moin face within a week or two, it'd vanish when just as fast when I stopped taking them. Then I moved (chronic illness/pain) to long term low dose and didn't get it then, I'm off them now, I'm in my 50's, menopausal and with a family history of osteoporosis I'm not taking chances on steroids effecting my bone health, it means more pain but so far I'm coping.

Yes takes another week

Thanks everyone for the replies. I'm just generally worrying as I have this big rash on face. Not responding really to steroids but it's online been 2 days

I had 3 sessions of 8 weeks in a period of a year on high dosages decreasing by 1 tablet each week. Started with 8 per day, then 7 and so on.

No moon face. I did get a wonderful steroid high.

As an aside, from someone who has also got a face rash, check it's not perioral dermatitis as steroids can make it worse. If you think it is, would suggest rosex cream (rather than gel) and potentially antibiotics depending on severity. The high zinc content in Sudocrem also seems to help me and many others.

Thanks for that, i got this post botox but I don't know if coincidental or not 🤷‍♀️ as it didn't happen till about a week after..

Possibly coincidental, PD tends to be from steroid use, skin barrier issues or could be overgrowth of candida etc.
it may not be and just a rash, but thought I'd mention it as I used steroids on what I thought was a psoriasis patch and had to go through steroid rebound and deal with underlying issue which was a major pita.
