PVC raincoats - do you get sweaty and clammy?

or are they ok? Seen a lovely cotton-lined one in town for one of the dc but seem to have distant memories of being bathed in sweat under a waterproof coat

so, sweaty or not, what's the verdict?

depends how hot the day is and how much you're wearing undernetah

advantage is they are genuinely waterproof, lots on the market aren't

I guess if it's a warmer day you could just have it unbuttoned? Was wondering whether it's suitable as a general spring coat.

I wouldn't do it for a general spring coat, only for a dedicated rainy-day one

I had a pvc (lined with silky material) mac, and foolishly wore it on a (very rare) train trip to see a customer in London - it was like wearing a plastic bag, and I was completely wringing in sweat. Haven't worn the coat much since. I wouldn't, tbh.

ok, thank you very much! That's what I thought... I can't even wear goretex without feeling clammy.
