I used this the other day and it has been acceptably clean for three days!

Which I think is a miracle

I do also use the yellow Johnson's baby shampoo, but this one seems even better.

Thought I'd let you know

Can I ask how often you need to wash for hair with other shampoos please?
You could fry an egg on my head after 36hrs and it's the bane of my life. Desperate for a solution, especially one as simple as this.

How often do you wash your hair? I used to wash mine almost every day due to how greasy it got. I stopped washing it as often to "train" it, and it defo works. I now wash it twice a week, but I do need to use dry shampoo in between to keep it looking good. Hair gets used to being washed too often unfortunately

I've had to wash it daily (to be presentable) since my teens many decades ago. I tried gradually extending the time between washes as you describe, numerous times in those decades but it just didn't work.

During COVID lockdowns I left it far longer as I didn't need to be seen by anyone outside the house and it made no real difference. I just ended up with a sore itchy scalp.
I've tried dry shampoo and talc but my scalp ends up with very sore spots on it that take ages to heal. It's not a solution for me I'm afraid.

I've tried sulphate free shampoo bars, no difference.
My hairdresser tells me it's because my hair is so fine (but plentiful) and so strong it has no porosity in it so the oils just slide down it, where anothers persons hair would absorb the oils.
But it drives me mental. It's not that I don't like being clean, more than it isn't always practical to shower according to the clock than when it suits me to fit it in. And after 36hours I look like I haven't washed it for a week.

I had hoped it would improve as a side effect of perimenopause but alas not.

@TwinkleDee

Mine is the same usually, 36 hours.
It's fine the first day, but after I've slept it literally looks wet from the grease. Really frustrating. Feels itchy too.

Tried the baby shampoo and it looks good after three days. I'll probably have to wash it tomorrow

I am almost tempted to dye my hair to stop the grease, apparently this dries it out a lot

But then you've the issue of root regrowth etc

Thank you for your reply, I've added it to my shopping list. Fingers crossed it's not a short lived wonder.

I did find dying my hair helped, but had to stop after many years as my scalp became irritated by that too. Your hairdresser may be able to find a close colour match so that regrowth isn't too obvious.

I do bleach mine and this is literally one of the reasons why.
