Dry flat, reshape while damp, don't tumble dry

I've upgraded my wardrobe in the last month and a number of items are from Hobbs. I've spent quite a bit of money on them since I want them to last and keep looking good.

Previously everything was washed in Mixed Load and apart from woollens, put in the dryer for Mixed Load as well.

They have instructions like dry flat, don't tumble dry and reshape while damp.
How do I dry flat? On a table? Or does the water stain the table? Or on an airer but that's not properly flat as there are bars. It feels like it will take ages to dry.
Can I put trousers in the dryer even if it says don't tumble dry? I'm happy not to put tops in. And reshape while damp means what? If I lay it flat is that enough?

It's confusing me as I never had really lovely clothes before and I don't want to ruin them.

Doesn't dry flat just mean don't crumple it when wet or something ? So i would just straighten it out and dry on an airer like normal.

And reshape is like a jumper you would kind of pull it back down at the bottom if that makes sense so it isn't wonky lol

You need to get an airer that goes flat - it's fine to be resting on the bars but it won't dangle down and stretch out of shape. I wouldn't put anything from Hobbs in a dryer.

Dry flat means not hung up by pegs or a hanger so it can't "stretch" as the wet weight of it is dragged down. So over a couple of bars on an airer should be fine.

(I would only worry about that rule for woollens.)

The mesh panels look great, thanks.

My mother always dried her wool jumpers flat on large thick towels on the floor. She'd turn them over when the upper side dried a bit.

I did that too until I got a (non heated) airer with a jumper sized flat mesh attachment that fits on top.

I had this great thing that looked a bit like a regular airer but was designed to go over your bath and lay flat - you then laid stuff on top. Lost it somewhere along the way but it was great while I had it.

I found this on Amazon and ordered it. https://amzn.eu/d/bo3YW4M

I am amazed at the new things you can get these days. I'm so used to what was available 20 years ago I didn't realise household products had moved on so much.
