Anyone had skin tags removed?

I’m wondering if anyone has had skin tags (on neck and one under eye) removed? How was it done, did it leave a scar and how much did you pay? I’ve noticed an increase on my neck after hitting 40 and I’m thinking about having them removed. Thank you

Not sure I fancy doing it myself!

I’ve tied dental floss round one of mine on my chin and it fell off after few days. No marks. Save yourself some money.

I've had them removed from arm pit when you could get it done at minor ops at the doctors. They kind of zapped them off it didn't hurt, not sure what they would do about the eye one though?

I’ve had one done in the crease between my boob and arm recently by an aesthetician I use for beauty treatments. She used numbing cream and a device a bit like the one upthread. It pinched a bit and felt hot but manageable. You’d never know it’d ever been there. Red for a couple of days but no scarring. No charge because I am a regular client and she loves to do that sort of work.

Different country so prices won’t be relevant. I’ve had a couple of large ones removed with scalpels as in-office procedures. One even required a stitch. I have no idea if it left a scar because of its delicate location.

in my 40s I would use very sharp small scissors that I sterilized to cut the occasional tiny one off my neck. When I hit 50 a huge batch popped up practically overnight. They weren’t just unsightly, they itched and snagged. They made me just feel awful. I had those removed. My dermatologist had a nurse practitioner who does them
cheaper and was easier to get into see. Most of them were removed with very sharp, small scissors. That made me feel better about my diy, but there is no way I could have tackled this particular outbreak or the bigger ones. She had a little arsenal of tools. The whole thing took 15 minutes.

it I have another flare up I’m definitely going back again to get them done.

I've had a load done at the GP, who froze them off. Stings a fair bit.
Ive also chopped small ones off with nail clippers myself, which stings like hell.

I had it done. Not sure what the procedure was called but it was like a needle which zapped it. They turned black and came off after about a week, rather than being frozen. I paid £50 and she said she’d just do as many as she could within an hour, though she finished early! Didn’t hurt but I have a fairly high tolerance for pain. I had one just below my brow, there’s a very tiny scar from that one but it’s more of a white blemish that you only see up close, no scars on the others.

Frozen off by GP with cold spray stuff.

They spray on the area for about 15 seconds. During which time it feels like someone stabbing needles into you a hundred times. But it's over quickly. I count the seconds!!

A bit of discomfort for 15 seconds to keep us totally worth it. The tag falls off about one to two weeks later.

If it needs a second go I return to the GP on week three.

Leaves a slight redness.

I went to the GP about the one under my eye because it was catching when I blinked and they removed it on the NHS. GP said skin tags are normally cosmetic so can’t be done on the NHS but because of the location he could refer me.
I had a local anaesthetic but no stitches and you can’t see a scar.
