With the 25% of I’m tempted with the CSA regime https://www.medik8.com/pages/csa-philosophy
vit C, sunscreen and Vit A .

Also wondering if something like Skin and Me prescriptions ( or one of the other similar websites ) would be better .

i am 60. Not to many wrinkles and fairly ok skin. I have always used sunscreen year round but have a few dark pigmentation spots .
Would like to get rid of them.
Dark circles .
Skin needs hydration but not overly sry and not sensitive .

which would be best or bit of both ?

thanks

I've been using Skin +me for nearly a couple of years (have worked up to their highest strength tretinoin) and use the Medik8 Crystal retinal 20 on days when not using skin + me. I prefer the feel of the Medik8, it's more moisturising, but I use a moisturiser with both anyway. Before starting skin + me I used a lot of retinols and retinals. None of them has made an immediate difference but I do think that using Skin + Me over time has helped improve the overall look of my skin and helped even out pigmentation. It does take a long time to work up to the higher strength though as they start you on a very very gentle dose which can be frustrating if you don't have sensitive skin and just want to get on with it.
I also use a serum in the mornings such as La Roche Posay mela B3 to help deal with a couple of pigmentation patches.
I don't really have dark circles but don't think these serums will make a difference to them . They also haven't really improved existing wrinkles but I keep going with them on the hope of preventing new ones!

Thanks. So you alternate ? That sounds like a good idea .

I've only fairly recently (last few months) reintroduced the Medik8- partly as I get a bit bored and like to try different things - the skin + me is in no way luxurious- so really it's probably the skin + me that made the most difference. There is a new range from the same people more aimed at mature skin , think it is called And Begin (?) which has added moisturiser , which might have a nicer feel. I'd like to try it if I could stay at current tretinoin strength.

I've signed up to Klira.
Been using a few months now.
My skin has a lovely glow. At 53 it's the best it's ever been.
I can share a 25% code if you are interested.

I’ve just cancelled skinandme and signed up with dermatica.

Skinandme started me on such a v low dose of tret 0.006% in august and I’m still only on 0.012%. They wanted to keep me on 0.015% for the next 5 months looking at my upcoming orders.

I haven’t really had any reactions, a tiny bit of dry skin that’s instantly sorted with moisturiser. So I decided to swap and dermatitca have started me on 0.025%.

If it’s too much for my skin and I get side effects I can always switch back.

Am recommendations for which company ? I’ve only heard of dermatica and skin and me.
Seems there are others /

Medik 8. Tried so many other brands but hands down the best but I'm 53 so their more expensive range is what I use them for as it actually makes a difference.

I use Uncouth.

Tried Medik8, Skin&Me and Dermatica over the years but Uncouth is the best of the bunch for me.

It lasts two months (rather than one for Skin&Me/Dermatica) so there is less waste and the base formula is much better. I find it lasts longer and you can put back your delivery day to fit with your useage so works out better value than the alternatives.

I have a 50% off code if anyone is interested - www.uncouth.co.uk/referral/EB959DE2

Hi OP. I began tretinoin via a dermatologist prescription last year. I can't remember the brand (Spanish) but it was a 0.05% concentration. That went fine so I was happy to switch to the online pharma providers and opted for Dermatica. I use their 0.1% tretinoin serum on my face (not neck) and the back of my hands, probably 4 times a week, rather than daily. Otherwise just wash with Atoderm moisturising oil, Cerave moisturiser morning and night, SPF50 in the morning and Vit C serum (from Superdrug) at 20%.

I've been doing this for 6-7 months and areas of pigmentation (sun damage, the odd bit of post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation) have diminished. The texture of my skin is very nice - the 'glow' that people talk about with tret is, I think, down to higher cell turnover, so you don't have an extra layer of tiny ashy dead skin cells (obviously you do have dead skin cells around - what do you think the dust in your house mostly comprises?) clinging on, and therefore your skin is more reflective of whatever light is around. This extra luminosity is probably what makes fine lines less visible as well - I don't have the tools to calibrate any change in depth or length of said lines, so it's all very subjective!

Make-up, if you wear it, sits better, the light bounces off your cheekbones, you just look a bit more 'on'. If you do Zoom/Teams calls, you might notice you look better on the screen! My mother (always an enthusiastic observer and critic of her children) tells me I look well, my skin looks really nice.

So, I would say it's worth giving a good shot for at least 6 months. I don't suppose the formula varies much between suppliers, so I'd go with the cheapest or most flexible subscription.
