I'm fed up with a lot of my clothes and want a bit of a revamp.
I'm 5ft 10, 34f chest, size 14, apple shaped, no bum, long legs and 45. I have no idea what I like or how to dress. I feel like I'm stuck in my late 20s, early 30s. I want to look more grown up but not middle aged. I'm a single parent with limited funds but can buy a few key pieces. I need tall or extra long trousers.
Any ideas on shops or online sellers that would have clothes suitable??
Thank you

Hmm …

I think you may struggle until you shift your perspective on middle age. You’re 45 - that’s probably, definitely middle aged; so whether you wear a £1k Saint Laurent leather mini skirt, or a £100 Nobody’s Child frock, or a £15k fake fur Phoebe Philo coat, or a £30 Primark anorak you will be dressing like a middle age person. But not all of them - just one - wearing whatever she wants to wear.

I like Zara and Mango. River Isand leg lengths are often quite good and I have long length Zara jeans. M&S are good for leg length.

Have you tried M&S?
They do different leg lengths in trousers and I find a lot of their clothing is lined so hangs much better.
I don’t want to look like a 24 year old though, if I did I’d be wearing cheap, ill fitting clothing from shein. I don’t mean that in a condescending way either. When I was 24 wearing short, tight clothing wasn’t a problem. There is no way I’d go out in see through polyester now.
I also use a lot of independent shops as they tend to display their items better and have more unusual items.

I’d have a look at Melissa Murrell on YouTube or Insta. She gets recommended a lot but that’s because she and team have a knack of finding nice high street pieces and putting together simple, trendy looks - but as she says herself it’s all about how you style an outfit head to toe, not just the individual items.

Middle aged clothes are literally defined by what middle aged people (i.e. you) are wearing.
