HELP!

I get Married in August and do not want a fluffy cloud for a Dress.

A nice Cream outfit or dress would be great.

I am 5'11" and a size 18 so the choices are limited. I have a budget of £300 max. Shoes etc will be on top of that.

I am also big of nork so need to be able to wear a bra (nothing backless)

Help oh wonderful MNetters

You can do it; you found me a ball gown at Christmas

Do you want full length? And does it have to be a wedding dress, iyswim - if it was a cream ball gown, would that be OK?

windygalestoday · 28/04/2008 20:48

i think you should look in the littlewoods catalogue or littlewoods direct they have some beutiful outfits and wedding dresses in there t v reasonable prices

JackieNo · 28/04/2008 20:49

This sort of thing?

JackieNo · 28/04/2008 20:50

Yes - littlewoods are very good.

JackieNo · 28/04/2008 20:51

This is lovely too.

Monsoon is surely your friend here...

EffiePerine · 28/04/2008 20:52

only in a 10 on the website

JackieNo · 28/04/2008 20:52

How pretty is this, and upper arm coverage too.

EffiePerine · 28/04/2008 20:52

Snap Jackie

JackieNo · 28/04/2008 20:53

effie. I'm sure for wedding dresses, they'd order them in in the shop.

S1ur · 28/04/2008 20:55

bodice and skirt on other page Damn out of size 18 atm though.

ShinyPinkShoes · 28/04/2008 20:56

Lovely one from Monsoon

Not typically bridal but I love it

Debenhams

EffiePerine · 28/04/2008 21:01

If you are large of nork you will want to avoid thin straps and definitely strapless styles

I have not yet found a strapless bra/bustier that really does the job on anything over a D cup (am a G so firmly in sturdy sleeves territory)

ShinyPinkShoes · 28/04/2008 21:01

Another one from Debenhams

S1ur · 28/04/2008 21:06

would you buy second hand?

S1ur · 28/04/2008 21:08

in the sale

EffiePerine · 28/04/2008 21:09

Gosh - you are all too quick

I have put the first suggestion from JackieNo (thanks) in my basket already, I looked at it several times and the 18 was out of stock - it is back in

I am going to peruse the other suggestions, I will be back later.

Thanks everyone

with shrug

callmeovercautious · 29/04/2008 10:35

Thanks everyone - stop teasing me with the johanna from Monsoon - not big enough It is lovely though, I might ring up and see if it is stock in a Store.

In the meantime I have ordered the Debenhams one, and will try it on to see. If not I am going Shopping next week so will have a look around. I am going to have a look in Oxfam as there is a Bridal store near here.

Slur - thanks for the second hand suggestion - unfortunately she is 5'4" and I might look a bit daft in a knee length Bridal Gown I did have a look at some others though.
