Older brides and wedding dresses

I think this is a great example of an 'older' woman wearing a traditional white wedding dress.

We have a work wedding in January and the bride will be 60 just before the wedding; she needs convincing that she doesn't need to wear a dress from White Stuff or Marks and Spencer just because she is 'older'.

Any other good examples?

That’s a beautiful dress. She looks lovely.

You can wear whatever you want, just remember the reality is that older brides are also more financially savvy so perhaps think it's too expensive to go to a salon(who unbelievably often charge just for the privilege of visiting!) I found an independent local salon that understood what I wanted and had dresses from £250

Hmm …

I’m over 60 and still planning my fantasy wedding dress. If Alexander McQueen had still been alive it would have been something of his - a huge structured gown with embroidery that took a hundred hands about three months to produce. In his absence I’m keeping a very close eye on Cecilie Bahnsen. With Dior as back up.

So I’m afraid I find the essence of your OP more than a little patronising. Some people care about clothes and are excited to have new opportunities to wear wonderful things - others don’t / aren’t. My attitude didn’t suddenly change on my last significant birthday.

My friend got married at 57 and went for a cream jumpsuit (a bridal one) and that looked really good but I think people should be able to wear what they want and feel comfortable in - but nice to have something nice for their special day

It may just be the angle but do her boobs look a bit weird in it? It’s a lovely dress though.

Wear what you want! I had a proper wedding dress, which i didn’t the first time around. Also why should you wear something different because you are over 40?? It’s very much a case of individual choice

My husband's aunt got married for the first time in her early 60s. She wore a traditional dress and looked lovely.
