Need recommendations please for light coverage face cream

I am having a terrible time with face creams lately. I need recommendations for a light coverage face cream. I would need something that blends in easily or skins in easily. I don't want anything that will look caked on the face. Just some light coverage. I usually have a red face. I neglected skincare for some time but I am turning a corner and washing my face more often and using some better skincare. I am really liking the Korean snail cream.

You mean a foundation or a tinted moisturiser? I usually find the best thing to do if you’re local to one is go to a Selfridges, Sephora etc where there’s lots of make up counters. Ask the people what they’d recommend and get a free sample. They’re always happy to do this I find. They can colour match you as well. Get a few from a different brands and try them at home at your leisure.

I suppose a tinted moisturiser

La roche posay is something which I recommend. So here is my routine that I follow with that:
Morning:
Using water to wash your face,
Sebamed clear face gel,
la roche posay spf
Evening:
la roche posay moisturizer,
Tretinoin (0.1) from skinorac
Sebamed clear facial gel

Go careful and get a tester first,it's expensive and makes me look as yellow as a Simpson. Revolution do a big jar for a third of the price of you want to try a green base.

Hi OP, maybe do the Caroline Hirons Skin test and see what is recommended there? The site recommends all sorts of products, not just CH's brand, at all price points.

How accurate is this? Did it work for you

The quiz gave me recommdations for types of cleansers and creams made by CH, but i didn't purchase those. I have a huge stashed of products from beauty boxes and advent calendars so went through that. I read the 'how to build a skin routine' article on the site and ditched my foam cleanser for a balm one that I had (M&S). I stopped using my No7 serum and started using a copper peptide one i had. I also use sunscreen every day now and apply products in the order suggested (cleanser, exfoliater / toner, eye cream, serum, moisturiser, spf). My skin has got a lot better and I have more of a glow now.

Here's a link to the article, hopefully it will work - skinrocks.app.link/tYLUH0Wu0Wb

You dont need to use all the products in brackets - cleanse, eye cream and moisturiser really, and spf in the morning.

Have a look at Dr Sam Bunting.

She's not asking for a skincare regime...

This is spectacular - best thing I have ever put on my slightly red face - and I get to try beauty products all the time. It has a lovely light coverage and also blends like a dream. I swipe a bit on the top of each cheek, at the side of my nostrils and on my chin then blend to the rest of my face. Expensive but should last ages. I use a brush (brushes I use also linked) but you could use anything: fingers, damp sponge.

This has a lovely glowy finish but I don't much like the messy tube. If you get the colour right it will look fabulous. This calls itself a Gel Tint but on me it has more coverage than the Dior and is more obviously "makeup."

If I didn't have the above I would simply use Charlotte Tilbury's Hollywood Flawless Filter in the right shade (apply mid cheeks and up, including nose, forehead etc... don't go lower, trust me)

(Elf do a dupe that is pretty close to this btw if you want to save money)

Then Nars Radiant Creamy concealer dotted on any redness or pigmentation and blend.

The key to a good coverage is making sure your face is nicely moisturised beforehand. If you like a facial oil (as I do) put it on under your moisturiser and spf.

I hate a heavy foundation and as I get older just can’t get away with it, it cakes on me. I tried a few tinted moisturisers before I tried Lisa Eldridge skin tint. It works great for me and just tints enough to give my skin a very light cover hiding my redness and blemishes. It’s buildable too and you can wear more if you prefer it a bit more full coverage. Their customer service is amazing and they will help you find the right shade and even send samples for you to test the shade before you buy any.
