hairdresser in Newcastle

Hello. I'm new to this section, so be gentle with me!

I'm going to be in Newcastle for a couple of days this week, and have some time to kill. I also need a haircut.

So, can anyone recommend a hairdresser in Newcastle town centre? I have longish hair, that I have no idea what to do with, and would love to be able to walk in somewhere and say 'make it great', and they do. Tall order, I realise. Failing that, just someone who'll give it a really good trim...

Try Toni and Guy which is on the ground floor of Monument Mall, or Gary Hedley which is on the top floor of Eldon Garden...both are really good hairdressers..although can be a bit pricey depending on what you want.

Thanks Fifi - Gary Hedley looks good, and is a total bargain compared to the London rip-off merchants I'm used to. He's got a new salon at the Quayside, so I might try that...
