Most boots rub on my heels - does anyone else have this problem?

I am not sure if it’s to do with the shape of my foot. Most recently I bought some boots that are not fitted around the ankle and calf and because my foot moves a bit, they rub. Bought some expensive inserts to see if that would fix the problem but no - they just make the boots too tight.

any suggestions other than always wearing those expensive blister plasters!!!

Heel raisers, I find work. They're not expensive to try.

Thanks - I will give them a go!

I used have bone spurs on my heels and new shoes or boots were a nightmare for blisters.

Got them removed thankfully.

Make sure your socks are well fitted too, if they move around that can cause friction.

Notcontent · 17/11/2024 16:53

Thanks - will try all of these.

Try:

shoe stretch spray
Silicon gel heel sleeves
Anti blister socks (like YUEDGE)

Try it out with a wadge of cotton wool first, that might be enough and even cheaper.

I always do it with shoes that rub my heel. It works even after the blister has formed whereas no plaster stops the pain.

Silicone gel heel cups. You can get them in varying thickness to suit different footwear.

I'm following this for the suggestions op - you are not alone! Do you find 'ballet flat' styles to be a nightmare too? Ballet flats sounds gentle doesn't it, but the actual devil goes to work on my feet as soon as I try them on.

Notcontent · 17/11/2024 21:17

@CollisionCourse yes!

I have the same problem. I bought these recently on Amazon and they have lots of other variations.

I have some grippy socks from Ninja Warrior UK - you have to wear them there and we went on a school trip. Perfect for boots that are a bit big.

I have also tried these, but they are quite thick, and I couldn’t find any thinner ones?

This is the same kind of gel heel thing I suggested

They do look thick but being gel I found they squished quite thin and didn't feel thick and bulky

OldTinHat · 17/11/2024 22:48

I normally wear two pairs of socks to combat this.

henlake7 · 18/11/2024 09:37

I go for thick well fitted socks.
My feet blister as soon as they see a pair of shoes....I cant even wear flip flops without getting blisters between my toes!🙄

WellyBellyBoo · 18/11/2024 09:45

You could try wearing compeed blister plasters while your skin toughens up and the shoes soften.
