I had a v matronly lady last time I went.

They have some lovely bras... tempt tempt

Gobbledigook · 27/04/2008 15:22

Oh I just stood there topless and let her put the bras on and fit them properly. I'm not bothered about it - they must see all sorts! THe bra fitter was fab - but not a svelte 18 yr old!!

Fimbo · 27/04/2008 15:22

Oh come on Disenchanted you are not that much older surely? (are you KB/KL?).

If I can do it at 40 (sobs) then you can too. It was all very professional.

humph.

bravissimo sent a misguided letter of marketing to me recently. said on the envelope 'could you be a bravissimo girl?'

er, no.

on a good and voluminous day, im an A cup.

am [green faced and slitty eyed] at all you well endowed ladies.

Disenchanted · 27/04/2008 15:27

Im 23 but have the body of a 50 year old!

MaeWest · 27/04/2008 15:27

Don't be Nappies - after 2.5 yrs of non-stop pg and breastfeeding mine are pretty much on the floor , I pretty much have to roll them up these days...

NappiesGalore · 27/04/2008 15:33

mae, i had 3 babies in 2.5yrs... and now my sad little boobs are also saggy too. the only time they look even slightly enticing is in a padded bra.

Cheers Fimbo! Off to google the Bravissimo site now in anticipation! Need a new white or pink bra and a nork-hoisting bikini

Unfitmother · 27/04/2008 15:59

I had a similar experience there. Won't shop anywhere else now.

mrspnut · 27/04/2008 15:59

This is my personal soap box subject.

If you go to be fitted for a bra and someone comes at you with a tape measure then run away very fast because it's likely that they're crap, also ignore all the stupid advice to add extra centimetres onto your back measurement.

La Senza, M&S and a few others give that stupid gem out so there are millions of women wearing the wrong sized bra.

At home, measure your chest underneath your boobs, pulling the tape measure tight but make sure you can still breathe.

This is your back size (if it was an odd number then you can try on the numbers above and below to decide which is more comfortable).

Them measure around the fullest part of your boobs, and subtract the number from your back measurement.

For each centimetre different go up a cup size, so a 6cm difference would be a an E cup.

Then start trying on bras until you find the perfect fit.

Gobbledigook · 27/04/2008 16:00

No tape measure was used in my bra fitting - just an experienced eye obviously. Then trying the bras on the fitter was proved to be bob-on!

No tape measure at my Bravissimo fitting, she looked at me. Tutted at my badly fitting nursing bra and returned with three lovely nursing bras which all fit and I bought the first one I tried on.

I will never go somewhere else to have a bra fitted again. I had my wedding bra from Bravissimo which was fab. Followed by two sets of badly fitting nursing bras from Mothercare (with tape measuring assistants) and now back to Bravissimo. I now have a better shape in my new bra(relatively with my 6 month bump)

mrspnut · 27/04/2008 16:20

I love bravissimo and rigby and peller. I haven't been anywhere else that has met my high standards.

I have huge 38HH's and if they aren't supported properly then my back hurts so it's in my interests to look after them.

MaeWest · 27/04/2008 16:26

Which reminds me, Mothercare made me cry when I was pg last time (bloody hormones). Bored flat chested teenager waved a tape measure at me and told me I was probably a 38D (I was 32F before pg) and gave me this revolting elasticated sling thing to try on... gah, saggy mono boob.

Then she had the cheek to ask me how supportive I found it

I shall never be unfaithful to Bravissimo again...

They are good (30 G here, pg again so will prob go up more, sigh) but Rigby and Peller are the best
