Maldives honeymoon wardrobe

DH wants to go on a very belated honeymoon in a few weeks and has just found a deal for the Maldives of all places. I'm chuffed to bits but have NOTHING to wear! Most of my summer stuff is too small due to baby weight and I'm at a loss as to what would suit me/be appropriate, particularly for the evenings. I'm a size 12 and apple shaped with slim legs which I find makes it difficult to look good in a lot of styles. I have huge boobs and need to wear a bra so although off the shoulder styles are okay, I can't do backless stuff. Help please!

Depending on the island you go to, the Maldives is very relaxed

Assuming a resort island, it's relaxed but take insect spray if you are exposing skin.

For men long trousers may be expected after 6pm in the restaurant(s) so do check that and summer dresses or loose trousers and top are fine for women. I didn't put shoes on the whole week as in I was barefoot!

If it's a larger island with locals it might change things so do check this, also if you visit a locals island long trousers for him and either long skirt or loose trousers for you is best and a top that at least covers your shoulders and half way down your arms eg traditional t shirt and if you have a scarf carry that too as I visited a religious site and women covered their heads. You don't need to buy anything special, a normal wrap you'll use with a summer dress is fine.

Which one are you going to? It really is island dependent.

I wore flip flops and loose cotton dresses every night, it was so hot! Most resorts have a white party once a week so pack something nice and white as the on resort shop will be incredibly expensive ($40 for suncream when we went last!).

Have a fantastic time, it is an absolutely incredible place to see and my favourite holiday ever.

Honeymooned in the Maldives last year and a similar shape/size!

LOTS of Bravissimo swimwear that makes you feel good- you basically spend the whole day getting in and out of sea/pool/spa. If I went again I'd get a UV rash vest to stop myself stressing about my back whilst snorkelling. You may also find water shoes make you feel more comfortable with all the sea life- there were lots of crabs on our beach!

I would then just take mainly coverups for the day- so loose tie waist shorts and linen shirts/kaftan style stuff. I took things like denim shorts and T shirts and literally never wore them. Keep in casual and loose.

Then a variety of floaty dresses for the evening! I find an Australian brand called Forever New very boob friendly- lots of floaty or linen midi/maxi dresses in either neutrals or florals with tie waists. Plenty dressy enough for the evening with flip flops/sliders.

They say it's a "no shoes no news" kind of place but make sure you take a pair of flip flops or two- the boardwalks will burn your feet, although bare foot on sand was fine.

You genuinely only need anything more substantial if you plan activities that require it, e.g. tennis, gym, in which case, take your normal stuff, though I was shocked to find no

I don't know if you're going for an all white theme but here's some ideas.....no single item is over £25

Don’t take loads of white, you’ll ruin it with sun cream. You need beach dresses and kaftans for daytime and floaty midi/maxi dresses for evenings. It’s not much cooler at night than during the day, and definitely stay low-key. Nobody wears heels, for example, they’d be completely out of place. Just a couple of pairs of flip flops and sandals. You do need those because the sand will burn your feet.
