I keep seeing these all over advert reels. Just wondered if anyone had tried them?

Just to add more detail:
I don't mean the long heatless curler, you can get rods (see attached)

I must be seeing the same reels!

An easy way to try out the idea would be to try out the ‘dressing gown cord curls’ via Youtube and see if that works for your hair.

I have and they didn’t work for me at ALL, my hair just fell straight down when i took them off.

That looks like bullshit, you could use strips of rag and get the same effect (as victorians did) https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRtmhjZSReqh1iO8YbmjQ84hQ5OiAee-hRD-w&s

Back in the 70s we used to do something similar with a box of tissues. You curl the damp hair round them like with rags and then tie the ends together and then just tear them out when the hair is completely dry. It worked and was cheap.

I think these are jumbo ones so make big curls. Though maybe it wouldn't last long as no heat?

They are an absolute bastard to put in because you can’t get your hair to curl tightly enough around them if that makes sense. I definitely think the dressing gown cord thing is a better solution

Seen sock ones too.

I used to rag my hair with old tights in the 80/90s. That works well. Curls were pretty tight. I have wavy hair tho so it curls well.

My teen dd does heaps of heatless curl stuff.

She used her dressing gown belt and has an old scarf of my grans which my mum found on the back of a drawer to cover/sleep in. Plus a bunch of styling spray.

She has long (past shoulder blades) basically straight but with a very very slight wave, fine but plentiful hair and she can get them to last all day. She's done her bf's hair the same way (no wave at all, poker straight) and it drops straight out.

She did a lot of experimenting and used Velcro rollers, rags etc. her hair is a bit like a pet frankly. But dressing gown gives her lovely full bouncy waves and works best.
