Hot brush?

DD (12) has bum length wavy-ish hair that can frizz/knot easily. She had it straightened at the hairdressers once and it looked good for days. I don’t want to buy straighteners and encourage all that as she is still young and I know they are terrible for hair. I also think she would burn herself 😆 I am wondering if a hot paddle type brush would work well, not for daily use but on the days she wants to smooth her hair a bit. Looking at GHD glide or similar? Any recommendations?

I got the GHD glide and quite like it. My hair is relatively straight naturally - I use if for second day hair to reshape / to smoothen it out after tying it up etc

Try a revlon one step to blow dry it straight they are pretty cheap around £30 and much better for hair health than a hot brush

Apply a few drops of hair oils first eg Moroccan oil or olaplex or even the Pantene one and heat protectant. Or cream. Or The beauty work 10 in one miracle spray

What do you /her do to her after washing currently

Is the Revlon One Step similar to Babyliss Big Hair? Have already tried the latter on her hair but it just got all tangled up on a round brush. And the round brush curls hair under whereas I’m thinking a paddle brush style would just smooth it down gently. I can dry her hair with my Parlux hair dryer and normal round brush myself but it gets tangled in the brush as it’s long and there’s a lot of hair. And then she moans it’s hurting her hair. Currently we use the hair dryer and then flat wet brush to blow dry which doesn’t pull on her head. Then plait for bed otherwise it’s a tangled mess in the morning. I don’t think I want to use a combined dryer brush when I have a really good Parlux dryer. The GHD glide appealed due to flat paddle brush style and that it doesn’t get as hot as straighteners so less damaging.

I tried the Babylon's big hair and it got really tangled

Oh dear pressed send to soon

It's nothing like the babyliss just makes it really smooth and glossy and flat or volume depending on how you use it without too much heat.

But there are also many paddle style brushes too if that more your thing it's just extra heat that could be avoided.

And it's affordable if that is consideration for you. They just recently brought about a new one with attachments

Whilst we don’t want straighteners as too hot and too flattening, I thought the Revlon would be a volumizer type brush which her hair definitely doesn’t need. But just noticed there is a paddle brush option not just round brush so that might be worth a try, much cheaper than GHD glide
