Period pants for teen girl

I’d be enormously grateful if anyone was able to recommend period pants for a 12 year old. She started her periods a few months ago & is keen to try period pants rather than traditional sanitary products.

I have no clue where to begin so I’d be really grateful if anyone has prior experience you’d like to share.

Thanks in advance

My daughter has recently tried a few brands and much prefers the Modibodi ones. Currently some offers on their website.

RecycleMePlease · 02/11/2024 17:55

I've tried a few brands, and I love the Uniqlo ones - they're that seamless material so super-comfortable, but, err.. there's comprehensive coverage...

AuditAngel · 02/11/2024 18:04

I bought my girls ones from M&S. one has boxer short style, the other has “boy shorts” and has just asked for high legs for dancing

Jesslequest · 02/11/2024 18:05

My daughters both use modibodi, they like the shorts, they’ve had them for two years now and still going strong.
Expensive to start so look out for their sales. They can’t be tumble dried and take a while to dry so you may want to buy a few Pairs so you don’t have to run a wash every day.

keely79 · 02/11/2024 18:08

I would also say modibodi - they do special ones designed for teens

FionnulaTheCooler · 02/11/2024 18:09

Another vote for Modibodi, they're great. Didn't rate the M&S ones at all, they don't seem very absorbent.

rubyslippers · 02/11/2024 18:09

ModiBodi. The swimwear is also very good
primark also do good pants and cheaper than ModiBodi

DumpedByText · 02/11/2024 18:12

My DD has always used them and she's 17 now. She's tried, Modibodi, Wuka and Hey Girls.

She says Hey Girls are the best closely followed by Modibodi. You can get multi packs from Modibodi which is cheaper as they are pricey. She has loads of pairs now, I'd say at least 20 pairs so they last the full week, as they take ages to dry if you only have a few pairs.

Aw, thanks everyone. This is enormously helpful.

My DD uses WUKA on heavy days and NEXT on lighter days.

bluecomputerscreen · 02/11/2024 18:45

uniqlo for heavy (but they look very old fashioned)
plenty sold on online platforms that don't cost as much as some of the brands mentioned that would be fine as back up or on light days.

Singleandproud · 02/11/2024 18:48

We have Cheeky Wipes ones here. They show on the website how far the absorbency is so you know if it's just the gusset or all the way to the waist band which is useful for nighttime / heavy flow

35pEnergyDrink · 02/11/2024 18:51

M and S ones have been popular here - they do a pack with nude and black, and a pack with grey, navy and pink. Apparently the grey ones are good under white jeans etc

ShaunaSadeki · 02/11/2024 18:54

M&S here, they seem fine for now, might get more expensive ones if her periods get heavier

Crojo · 02/11/2024 18:59

I bought my DD cheap Primark ones initially to see if she liked them. They did the job but the elastic waistband didn't last well. They are good if you want some cheapies to keep as spares in the school bag for example.
I've since bought Wuka and Modibodi. Both seem to work ok, although the Wuka ones feel thinner and more flimsy. DD likes the Modibodi best. They are expensive, but always seem to have sales on, email offers and discount codes so I would sign up to the website and see what offers you can get.
I also recommend getting a mesh wash bag to wash them in.

YummyCookie · 02/11/2024 19:06

My 10 year old likes the ones from Next for during the day. Then Rovtop ones from Amazon for on a night.

Raindropskeepfallinonmyhead · 02/11/2024 20:15

Following as dd started recently

boomdeboom · 02/11/2024 21:02

I have tried Luna, cheeky wipes, modi body and Primark and I absolutely love the Primark ones. I get the ribbed seamless ones and they are the most comfortable pants I have ever worn!

shuffleofftobuffalo · 02/11/2024 21:49

My DD (also 12) likes the Wuka ones.

StarlightLady · 30/11/2024 11:13

I wear these together with a tampon for the heaviest time:

They are practical and comfy plus they don’t feel too bulky, they also feel less frumpy then some on the market. I tend to leave the tampon off completely during the lighter beginning and end days, but l always change at lunchtime when that’s the case.

As for special bags to put them in, l think that’s marketing gone mad!

M&S

3pk Heavy Absorbency Period High Leg Knickers | M&S Collection | M&S

Floral lace lends a pretty look to this three-pack of period knickers. Made in a flattering high-leg shape. Each pair features a heavy-absorbency gusset, with layers that draw moisture away from the body, absorb fluid and prevent leaks.  M&S Collection...
