I can't dress for autumn/winter.. help!

So I'm a summer person! I love summer dressing...I have heaps of summer dresses and I wear with various sandals, flip flops etc when the weather is good.

I am currently still in my dressing gown because I have no idea what to wear when the weather is colder 😂

I only like wearing dresses and I hate tights...I dislike the feel of jeans. I like leggings but think they don't look very grown up or sophisticated. I dislike the feeling of being bundled up. I hate wearing boots...they take ages to put on. I also hate trainers. I only like shoes I can slip on.

I just want to be able to chuck something on in the morning that looks relatively nice but appropriate. Winter dressing is just such a huge faff.

Anyone else struggle?

I hate winter dressing too.

I often wear a dress with thermals underneath ( leggings and long sleeved top) with a long cardigan. Shoe wise I have Merrypeople short wellies or fit flop trainer type things. I do wear socks though!

I also like wide leg trousers from M and S with a jumper.

Can you wear your dresses over a thermal top? Sandals with socks? I mean it’s not a look for me but if people can wear sliders with socks then why not sandals!

Oh yikes...not sure I'm cool enough to do an ironic socks and sandals look!

You can wear leggings under dresses and skirts. This visually has a similar effect to tights but without the infuriating nylon itchiness.

How about jeggings?

Don't fret! Yesterday i saw someone in shorts and a tee, and someone else in a long puffer coat. I didn't judge either of them, although I did presume the winterised lady was perhaps just excited to be wearing new stuff perhaps - there always seems to be some folks jumping the gun a bit because, to me, it looks like they've got a fabulous new coat and want to wear it!

I've bought cotton slips so that I can keep wearing my summer dresses, as it very rarely gets bitterly cold, and i like the look of them with long cardigans and oversized jumpers. I think the problem area is you dislike of socks, tights and boots. What about sizing up in the tights and buying chelsea style slip on boots?

Another alternative would be to wear some sort of trouser under the dresses. I've never done that, but it could make the dresses more suitable?
