Terribly dull style requirement - a cardigan! Please help ...

Okay, I like cardigans. They redeem the fact that I've only just realised that round necked t-shirts are the work of the devil as far as my figure is concerned. They redeem rubbish British weather.

But I am heartily sick of my current cardigan, which is a black velvet trimmed Boden one. Two problems - one, the main cardi has faded a lot more than the velvet trim, which is not a good look, and two, it is the SMALLEST size 16 ever made by anyone ever.

But I am absolutely stumped trying to find a replacement. I can't even think of shops to try. Well - tried Monsoon, got nothing (lovely chocolate brown one with flower buttons, size 8 only, pah). Nothing from Boden. Nothing from M&S.

So I want - a dark coloured (probably black, but I could branch out into chocolate brown or grey if I was feeling brave) V-neck cardigan, natural fibres (at least mostly), no pockets, long or 3/4 length sleeves. I don't mind spending a fair bit if I can find the right thing, as I will wear it until it falls apart.

Anyone got any ideas, even some shops (online) to try?

Tbh I think a round neck one is more flattering than a v neck.
Vneck is too old man imo.

Gap do some great cardigans in cotton ,perfect for the summer.

I hardly ever do mine up though.

I bought a cardigan from Tescos or New Look. Quite reasonable.

Doh, Next - ordered a bunch of stuff for DD last night with free delivery code and just ran out of steam before ordering anything for myself. Some nice ones there tho.

Ooh, Topshop, I have rediscovered Topshop, I like to have a few things from there and pretend I am not heading rapidly towards 40. That green one is lovely - I can see I'm going to end up with a wardrobe of reasonably priced cardies rather than one investment buy!

DH was shocked when I considered spending £170 on a pair of boots, he would DIE if I spent it on a cardi. Not that he'd know of course. ;)

Gap ... worth a look in town (Gap always disheartens me for some reason, although I have had some brilliant stuff from them). I also rarely do cardies up, or I just do one button to stop them flapping about the place.

I may very well end up with something from Tesco, provided I go on my own (one week's grocery shopping, plus a pair of shoes last time I went solo, bargain).

I've found this one from Wallis, is nice. Anyone know what their sizing is like?

Laura Ashley are prety good at cardi's. I used to hate it, but recently their stuff seems to have improved (or I've got older )
