Get waves into a fine Bob

Have been googling and all these fancy tools are coming up - tongs, things that look like they suck it in then give it a curl etc
I have crap, fine hair that I’m growing out - it’s currently a Bob length. It has a slight wave to it but nothing special and once I’ve dried it, it’s gone. Needs blow drying for any body or life or I look like hulk hogan.
I’d love to be able to get some beach style waves in it and am really bad at hairstyling. Can anyone help and advise what I need? Not a massive budget but could spend a bit on a heated tool or similar.

Have you tried SLS free shampoo and silicone free conditioner? They make a great difference to my wavy hair. Some people dear by curly creams but I find they make my hair sticky.

Not consciously no but I think I am currently - does it help leave a wave in?

problem is once I’ve had the hairdryer on it - all wavy bits are gone. But if I don’t blow dry it it looks awful. So my natural wave doesn’t really matter sadly

The only thing that makes my crap, fine hair have the right kind of wave is using straighteners after blow drying. I'm sure it doesn't help with the condition of it, but it works. You can find youtube videos on how to hold them and twist them correctly so you don't burn yourself.
