Broken hair - how do I stop this happening?!

Hi, I have fine hair almost down to my bra strap. My hair isn’t dry and my hairdresser always says it’s in good condition.
I have my roots touched up every 5 weeks, but she only does the roots and a trim every 10 weeks.
I don’t have split ends, but so many annoying ‘short’ hairs. Stopped blow drying my hair for about 5 months but it made no difference.
I only dry on a low setting and don’t drag with a brush.
Anyone had this and can offer any tips? I know lots of other people with similarly fine hair, but they still have smooth hair!!
Thank you

I have this. I don't know what the answer is.

I have this too. I've had my hair cut shorter but would love to grow it longer again if there's an answer.

Are they definitely broken hairs and not new ones? If you look at the end of the strand you can usually tell by whether the end is blunt (broken) or tapered (new)
Some people have a naturally short hair growth cycle and can't grow their hair beyond a certain length.
If they are definitely broken then it might be worth trying a semi or demi permanent dye rather than permanent. That has made a big difference to my hair breaking.

Vitamins and protein!

To eat I mean, not to put on your hair!

Maybe some of it is new hair? It’s so annoying, my hair looks ok when first dried, but the slightest bit of damp and it’s so frizzy!
Why haven’t I got swishy hair? 😩

Yes, I was also going to suggest these might just be new hairs. I think we lose something like 50-100 strands of hair a day - they must regrow at a similar rate otherwise we'd all be bald.

I'm not sure what to suggest though. I would have said flyaway/frizz is normally hair reaching out for moisture, but you say your hair isn't dry. Could a small amount of hair oil help perhaps?

If it's broken it could just be too heavy for its type. I used to get that and my hairdresser told me to keep it shorter.

My solution was to have kids. I never had postpartum hair loss so it was thicker for the rest of my life, well until I hit the menopause and now my hair is thin and breaks
