Gift ideas for men...almost forgot his birthday!

Help please! I am usually very organised and have bought my husband's gift months in advance. This year...life just happened. His birthday is almost here and I have no idea what to get him. I can do gifts card and chocs/card but I wouldn't like it if he did it to me. And he got me a good, thoughtful present that I actually liked for the first time this year. Arghhh!!

-Early thirties
-Have a toddler and no easy childcare so nothing too exciting/ long experiences/trips away
-Nothing that will just be clatter in a month. I want it to be actually useful in some way
-Can do clothes but he is picky and prefers to choose himself
-Up to £200
-Hopefully something a bit different
-He doesn't have a lot of hobbies and has a desk job-no easy gifts there

Any ideas welcome!!

Has smart watch, a bit afraid of legos with toddler. Might have a look at headphones!

If you don't already have every channel, maybe a year's subscription to something like AppleTV or the Disney Channel (which isn't all kid's stuff and has all the big film franchises, etc). You'll have a whole year of watching when the toddler has (hopefully) gone to bed.

Better quality essentials/things he wouldn’t usually splurge on. Cashmere - jumper or beanie (Elgin), boot socks (Corgi), belt, T-shirts (Community Clothing), PJs (PJ Pan).

Nice shaving products, Aesop hand cream, Kiehls face scrub, voucher for a posh hair cut.

Magazine subscription, posh advent calendar (Fortnums or coffee), coffee/tea treats.

I like your thinking! I had a look at pj pan, are they worth it? We are all in for small luxuries but not sure how £175 pjs are different from m&s etc.

I need to have a look arlt luxury advent calendars too, make a coffee one?

Bang & Olufsen or Bose noise cancelling headphones
Liberty advent calendar for men
New upgraded backpack
Good quality wallet - Smythson, Aspinal etc.
A case of wine
A pair of tickets to see a band, play etc.
12 individually chosen books - one for each month of the year individually wrapped, perhaps on a theme

How about some easy treat food to prepare at home since it’s hard to get out? I’ve bought these Dishoom kits before for my OH and they were a hit, fun to make and eat! store.dishoom.com/collections/meal-kits

Maybe a T-shirt from PJ pan to test it out? I’ve not tried the PJs yet.

Hey Kat,

I found this gift box went down really well with my husband. I've got one for my brother this Christmas, it feels quite luxury hamper but more manly and different to what I've seen before

My dp is a pain to buy for to , this year his birthday is in January I've purchased 2 nights in a hotel a meal a few experiences one being racing his favorite sports cars he gets to race in 3 cars of his choice plus a warm up lap on the day it was costly at £150 we will also additionally stay in a hotel the night before the experience
The other experiences are things we can do together ones a comedy night for 2 the other is for us to visit formula one museum because he loves that kind of thing all in costly but things he can make memories from probably about £690-700 spent all in for this

Pigeon31 · 31/12/2024 03:56

Subscription to something he might like, like a magazine or coffee (both things I've got for my OH in the past that he really liked).

Happyinarcon · 31/12/2024 06:30

My hubby likes maps, so I got him an old map of our suburb showing our house plot. One time I found a bunch of vintage/antique postcards from his home town and got them framed
