I've got combination skin - its dry in the mornings and obviously i use moisturiser on it. Problem is that skin gets very greasy and shiney as the day goes on, so much so i could literally wipe it with a tissue to stop it!
I have tried sooooo many moisturisers and cannot get rid of this problem - nothing works.
I've been using Decleor Matt fluid for a few months - at first it seemed to work, but now i am back to the same problem.
Has anyone else got this problem and has anyone found a matt moisturiser that actually works and doesnt leave you looking like a greasemonk by lunchtime?

I've been using this for a while, and find it keeps my skin looking a lot less oily. Though there may be ones specifically meant for oily skin. I have used an oil-free/mattifying one in the summer - will dash upstairs and see if it's still there...

shreddies · 24/04/2008 21:15

That Clinque stuff JackieNO linked to is fab.

JackieNo · 24/04/2008 21:16

It is, isn't it shreddies.

The moisturiser I have is this one. Works for me, though I'm not sure my oily bits are quite as oily as yours.

Try Roc (available in pharmacies) - I used Clarins for years and used get terrible blind spots on my chin and shiny faced and switched and it's worked (and cheaper too) My GP recommended it and it's dermatologist devised

PotPourri · 24/04/2008 21:20

Try those little blotter things that you get too. I have some that my sister got me from Victoria;s secret. But I am sure the body shop do teatree ones and other ones for sensitive skin. You just dab it on and all the oil comes off (yuksome - but it works).

droopytits · 26/04/2008 17:58

I've tried Roc and also Clinique - always too greasy for me.

Shreddies, what is the clinique one you are talking about? It may be one I havent tried.

Have you tried moisturising at night and then using something light like an oil in the mornings?

droopytits · 26/04/2008 18:07

i havent effie, no - do you think that would help? Wouldn't oil be even worse for me?

i think Olay Regenerist is a really good moisturiser that keep shinyness at bay.

cornsilk · 26/04/2008 18:10

If you buy stuff from QVC you can send it back for a refund within 28 days after you have tried it. So you can try it out for a few weeks for example and then send it back if it doesn't suit your skin. They do some good brands like Elemis and prescriptives. Worth a look. Or go into Space NK where they stock lots of different brands and will help you find the best one for your skin.

Furball · 26/04/2008 18:15

I use Dermalogica active moist and it's fab, soaks straight in leaving no grease nothing.

If you look for stockist on that site you can get samples to make sure you like it before you buy it

Furball · 26/04/2008 18:15

btw 100ml last at least 9 months

droopytits · 26/04/2008 19:50

I am the same. I use Clarins multi active jour. It's £32 in Boots. Lasts me about 5 months (bit forgetful). SInks in quickly, isn't greasy at all, smells nice but not strong and is SPF15.

You do look greasy for first 10 mins.

Furball · 26/04/2008 21:05

it's www.dermalogica.com then click UK, the product I mean't is called 'Active Moist'. There is also list of stockists.

lessofme · 28/04/2008 19:42

I'd second Furball with Active Moist. I had terrible shiny skin and it's worked a treat. Oil free.

Get mine from JerseyBeauty.co.uk. Cheapest on web- free delivery and send free samples too. Just bought some of this for #21.00 - about 6 quid cheaper

Furball · 29/04/2008 06:50

Wow - Thanks for the heads up on Jerseybeauty - Thats £10 cheaper than I usually pay!
